Don't know who ridethewave is who posted that this tournament is cancelled. I contacted the casino to be sure and was told it was still on. It is still on their website. Will try to get more info before changing the calendar.
Really is cancelled Just came from the casino and confirmed that the tournament is in fact cancelled. So few people had pre-entered that they were afraid they would be in the same position as their last tournament where they had to add money to the prize pool. Unfortunately tournaments are dying in Tunica. About all we have left are the Gold Strikes promo chip tourmaments. :sad:
I talked with them last Friday night also and low registration a week before the event date was what I was told pulled the plug on it. I think they want to keep Blackjack tournaments going. In fact, they tell me they are planning a smaller weekly Friday night "win your table" tournament in the near future. But Deltaduke is right. The way things are going Tunica tournaments may well go away,...... but I think it's up to the players. If we'll turn out for these events, I believe they will continue. We've just got to sign up far enough in advance for them to have a level of participation that justifies holding them. too...
