entries thanks for the results for sept.how many played.i am going in now, first time ,i already can fill the butterflys.
I'm leaving tomorrow night.... I'll be there for this month's round, I hope to see my name in the Play by Play next month. I qualified last October but didn't make it to the final table. I was in first place going into the last hand but bet $2000 instead of the max. Everyone else bet the max, everyone else doubled down against a dealer 10 and made their hand, I did too. The dealer ended up busting and I went from 1st place to 4th place (by $400, when in doubt, put it out) just like that.
Good Luck Good luck this month in your tournament. I qualified last month in September making it to the semifinals before getting knocked out on the last hand. Do to the number of players that signed up, we all started in the second round.
Jan and I are playing this weekend, so I'm sure we'll see some of you there. I'll have to check the attendance numbers from last month. I know it was capped at 120, but I think they didn't fill up even at that number. For October, when I called a few days ago, they were at 70 players so far. Of course, there's always a surge at the end, so who knows what the attendance will be.
This month's Las Vegas Advisor had the count at 104 for last month. I'll look you up and say hi this weekend Ken.
A quick update. vickic was given incorrect information. This month is capped at 120 players as well. I'll update with an exact number later.
Yes, I was given incorrect info, I do believe they made the 120 though. I was really surprised when I was told over the phone that they had 150 already. I had called the week before and they were in the 80's. Anyway, I never did see you Ken, maybe another time. I didn't advance this go around.
No luck for me at Hilton I wasn't around the Hilton nearly as much as I would have liked! Both me and my wife were first round casualties. She had a good shot of making round two, but the cards didn't cooperate. My round was a typical exercise in frustration. Even with a table full of minimum bettors, I was steadily losing ground because of bad cards. My attempts to catch up with $500 or so bets failed, and I kept digging a bigger hole. I rebounded near my original starting total, but was still behind the leaders. Somewhere around hand 23 of the 30, I was betting behind the two leaders who both made bets of a few hundred dollars. If I wanted to take the high on this hand, it just so happened that betting exactly half my $4600 bankroll would do it. I figured this was as good a chance as I was likely to get, and I bet $2300. I drew an 18, and both the leaders had hand totals of 20. Of course you know what happened next... A dealer 19 lost me $2300 and gained the leaders even more ground. My next bet was an all-in loser. I didn't even make it to the countdown in round one. Congratulations to Rita Bagot, Barry Chase, Tom Long and 13 other players now guaranteed a spot to play for a million bucks next May.
