I was wondering about the WSOB qualifying events being held here every Sat.

Has anyone from this site attended the WSOB satellite? How many people are present? What is the casino like? How far away from Detroit is this casino?

    A semi-major commitment

There are only 2 more qualifiers left before the final play off. See the CALENDAR for exact dates.

Maybe DanMayo will see this thread and may be able to answer your questions better than I can. However, I don't think anyone from this site has played in their event since it is primarily aimed at locals, but I could be wrong. On a different thread he (DanMayo) made the following statement:
The "Scarey" Eagle is just the text I put onto the link. The nickname comes from them having some of the worst Blackjack conditions in the state. But the closest competition is a couple hours away so they don't care and get a lot of ploppies anyway.
As for distance from Detroit - about 125 to 175 miles.

Seems to me that anyone coming in by air should think twice. To actually win a WSOB seat would require 2 trips - one to qualify and one for the play-off. This makes for a substantial commitment in time and money. Also, Indian casinos are not known for giving breaks on room rates. The tournaments are on a Saturday - Friday and Saturday being the most expensive room rates of the week.
