FYI, Registration is open for the June tourny at St. Ignace which is open the 1st day of the month, the month previous of the tourny. When I called and left my request on the voice message I heard the following. "Please leave your name, phone number and Northern Rewards number. Registration is no longer on a first come basis but based on previous play." I'm not sure what's up with this but it may be due to the fact that they sold out last time (capped at 150) and maybe heard from some of their regulars? Or maybe some of the regulars complained about not getting a room onsite? Anyway, I did not get a chance to talk to DeAnne but got confirmation back the same day, that I was in, lodged onsite. I'm guessing that they might have this in place for a few weeks giving the regulars a chance to get lodged onsite and then will confirm newbie's? Anyway, thought I would give everyone an update and I guess it's like Toolman sayz, "If you wanta dance, you gotta pay the band.":band2: See everyone next month! -Dan
Good that you got lodging on-site, DanMayo. You of all people deserve it for the years of loyalty to St. Ignace. The problem I see with that policy is that it discourages new business. As I see it, they should have a tier level entry fee structure based on your recorded history of play but it should be first come first serve. If they then wanted to give out rooms, based on a tier level, then they could do that too. Just my thoughts. How true, how true. St Ignace is only doing what the rest of the gaming industry has been doing for so long.
True for all tourneys Kewadin has this policy now for all tourneys at the various sites. It is more stringent at the premium properties such as Ignace and Sault. I have locked in a BJ tourney and am presently *waiting*to lock in a slot tourney, but have not heard back for 2 days. Me and Mz. Panther want to do a half dozen tourneys this summer, BJ, Slot and VP, maybe even Keno. The value of a tourney package, ev, goes up in the summer as hotel rates are much more expensive in these great areas at that season, summer. There are a few packages in some areas that are just mindblowing in value, ev. I think Kewadin is just trying to take care of their loyal customers first and those who give good action and steady business. For me and Mz. Panther these tourneys are basically a free vacation. We get to play together in the tourneys and I get to play BJ against the house at night and do outdoor recreation during the day. The best BJ conditions for me is during slot or VP tourneys since the BJ tables are not nearly as busy and "everyone" is more at ease- CP
Policy change I was told that they made the change January 1. TwinCitiesRN and myself had to stay in a smoking room in March, but we were on-site. We were able to get a non-smoking room for June. The rated play is better now, thanks mainly to RN who has had really good luck playing against the house. I think Creeping Panther's skills are rubbing off!
The "Dynamic Duo" of the "BJ World", Twin City RN, (The Black Widow), and " Schultzy" (The "Scorpion"). Let us not forget their legenday "Crew", Jobewaun and Alf. "Scorpion", a correction, if I may be so bold, I have no *skills*, but I do have a few -"Skillzs"-. CP.
