My wife and I are heading north for the St. Ignace Tourney in the morning, which is about 300 miles due north of us. Hopefully we won't find too much snow. Anyone else going to be at this event over the weekend? As of last Tuesday they only had 67 registered but usually have a good turnout of about 120. They always host a great event and we had a lot of fun at it. Of course winning some big prizes in the past may have had something to do with it! I'll give a report next week. Dan
Dan, Good luck this weekend! I am not going to be able to make this one. We are getting a snow storm so leave early Friday. They have a snow advisory in effect for tonight, expecting 6". Txtournamentplayer, Is that the Regina from the first WSOBJ? If it is, I wish her luck as well. I wish I could be there to meet her! Slim
Snow, Snow, Snow Slim, Thanks for the ends up on the snow. We have not gotten any that amounted to much in the southern portion of the state. We are just about ready to hit the road so should get there by early afternoon. Tx, I'll give your regards to Regina if I get a chance to talk with her. It is actually a pretty small (cozy) casino so I will more than likley get to talk with her if she is there. Is she from the area? Well off we go! Dan
Cool! Maybe I'll be able to meet her at the February Tournament. Maybe some of you other pro's will venture to the Great Upper Pennisula of Michigan Slim
Not this time..... I feel victim to the BR3 person getting a hand 41 (out of 42) 2:1 blackjack that made him BR1. At that point I was BR2 but quickly became BR3 when I lost that hand. I was able to get all my money on the table ($990 - $500 max bet allowed) with hand 42 by splitting 8's (and winning) during this semi-final round but fell short of over taking BR2 by $110 and ended up BR3 and out of the tourney. Regina, as it turns out is from Midland Michigan and I did as well as she did. I did not play at her table but did get to play out on the regular floor with her. She played pretty well but needs to learn that surrender can be a good thing. This casino is one of the few that offers surrender in Michigan and it is really surprising that not many people know what it is, let alone use it properly. Anyway, hopefully there will not be too much snow in February. See you then Slim. Dan
St Ignace 2005 calendar Regina faxed me a list today of the 2005 St Ignace tournament schedule, so I added the 5 events to the Schedule. Or, more conveniently, just look at the Recent Updates. However, few details are noted. As you guys get more details on the events, please update as needed. And, thanks Regina for the info! P.S. Regina, I know you don't like to surrender, but it's sometimes a good thing!
