I just wanted all the players from the August BJ cruise to know that I am still trying to get additional discounts for all of us.

Now having said that I am also working on a possible April cruise from Galveston, TX. Several players have asked for a cruise earlier in the year so they can excape the cold weather, March/April were the months they asked about go.

This April cruise is not set yet, am I just posting to get some feedback on the idea. Let me know if this is something you would like to go on.

    Sounds Excellent

The March/April time frame is perfect. It will be just in time to shake off the winter blues. Count Storm and I in.

    No April cruise...

I still haven't heard back about from Carnival about my request for more compensation for our non-Bahamas cruise.

I guess Carnival is like any other company now days, they are great at calling you offering specials, but you can't get hold of anybody when you have a problem.

If the problem we encountered was beyond their control would be one thing, but our trip was ruined by human error and what Carnival is offering for compensation is just not acceptable.

If they want to keep my tournament business, then they need to take better care of my group or we will move our business else where.

I know I am not a regular poster here on this site but do read every week. I have cruised on Carnival (and several others) many times. In my opinion they are the best cruise line out there at this time (not a paid endorsement). Most do offer some sort of compensation but with the current cruise market I doubt any line would of given more than a just a percentage off a future cruise.

I am a amature BJ player and just now moving into the tourment play. I even met Leah at the tables in Cripple Creek this past summer. I would enjoy a cruise out of the Texas or New Orleans ports with a BJ tournament format.

    Hey Dgandy

Tex is trying to get us a special discount. When we were playing on the cruise tournament in August, our Carnival cruise ship crashed. Yes it really crashed. They gave us a small compensation for our trouble but most folks from the cruise tournament feel we should get a very good deal next time if we're going to stay with Carnival.

I have followed the thread with great intrest as it combines my two favorite past times, cruising and BJ. I have sailed out of Galveston on Carnival about 5 times over the past 10 years but I don't know that I have ever been one one that hit the pier and was then refused to let the ship tie up. I have heard horror stories over the years about A/C problem, running aground and such. In those instances they usally give a 50% discount off a future cruise. I even had a co-worker end up on a cruise that went no where, just cruised up and down the Texas coast due to bad weather in Mexico. Only if they have to actually cancel days do they offer larger discounts. I was just saying don't get your hopes up as the cruise market is not what it used to be. Too many new ships now and the market is soft.

    Even morer reason...

If the market is soft I would think Carnival would want as much business as possible. I am not asking a lot, but come on when you don't get to go to the Bahamas on a Bahamas cruise then there is a problem.

This time the problem was caused by human error and I don't think the passengers (PAYING PASSENGERS) should have to be out more on a future cruise to get compensation from Carnival, but if we are treated fairly and giving 50% off a future cruise I think we could all live with that.

If I understand the accident happened when docking, the boat is usually under the Harbor Masters control not the ship capt., so they will probably throw the blame there.

    Cruise Refunds

Mac's wife is the cruise Guru. She may have some thoughts on your refund plight.
If only you all had pushed Rick overboard at the time of the crash, you'd have gotten all the refunds you wanted.
