I just heard that a group of players from Global-Player are planning a Vegas trip the first of Feb. 2006.

I believe that GSN is looking to hold the WSOB III in Feb. as well (tenitive).

I will try and put together a couple of my "Super-Mini" tournaments for up to 54 players per event while your out there.

I will start working on putting together the tournaments this week. For anyone interested in attending, I heard the group is staying at Lady Luck downtown. (not sure if that is where the tournaments will be held).

    Vegas Super Mini's

    Rick,

The super mini's in Vegas 2/6 - 2/10 2006 sounds great. This BJT.com/Global get acquainted trip was organized by the STL Mafia but I'm sure everyone is welcome. The headquarters for the group will be at the Lady Luck downtown hotel/casino. Keep us informed about the mini's.

    Hi Rookie,

Speaking for all of us from STL, we believe, "the more the merrier". We are looking forward to meeting as many as possible.

Rick's "super-minis" sound great to us. So let's all spread the word.

Thanks for being in on this from the very beginning Rookie.

    Tom (tgun) ;-)

    Su[er Minis in Feb.

Please ya'll. couldn't find a more pleasant aromatic atmosphere than the Lady Luck.

You'll need all your will power to hold your breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, whatever,as you enter the front doors, let alone stay for the night.

But if luck is in the name, someone will be lucky. Good luck.

    They picked!

Several players were already planning a trip to the Lucky Lady.

I am not sure if that is where the tournaments will be held at yet, I am just trying to get them there. Since that is where the out of towners are staying.

I try to make it as easy as possible for players to get to my tournaments. However finding a casino willing to allow us to hold a tournament isn't as easy as you may think.

TX, I admire you're sense of fair odds and your integrity. I think you're one of the most honest promoters out there. I'd just advise everyone to bring their gas masks to the "Lady" It's almost as bad as Circus-Circus with the beans and franks special on the day of the elephant act.

    Vegas Trip

We're looking forward to meeting you too tbird.

As for as staying at the Lady Luck. When we started talking about this trip, while playing on GPC, a player highly recommended the Lady Luck. This person stays there when in Vegas. I used to stay there 10 years ago, and found it ok. And finally, we got a good air + hotel deal out of Stl from Expedia.

Our non-refundable tickets have already been purchased. Therefore, we are going to just have a great time anyway.

Nobody has to stay at Lady Luck or even enter the building against their wishes. We can meet anywhere in Vegas at anytime that somebody arranges.

    Looking forward

    Lady Luck

    Tgun,

You are too kind in your post; I don't think explanations about the hotel selection are necesssary, meeting and spending time with friends (new and old) is what this trip is about for me, we all know Lady Luck is not the Wynn.
I also don't think anyone to date condemning the hotel selection plan to be in attendance. I look forward to the trip if I have to sleep on the lobby sofa.

I and others attending had the option of staying at LL with the Mafia or staying at other hotel/casinos with the rooms fully comped but spending more time with adopted brothers made it an easy decision.

The Lady Luck isn't a Wynn's but it isn't as bad as was described...you will enjoy the place as well as downtown...you can go any place from there.

meeting global players coming to vegas

Ditto that Mike You, Marilyn, Sam, and Candy will have to come over with me and meet everyone. I feel a large group can have more fun downtown. See you at the Longhorn or Boulder.

    Super Mini's

From my perspective, as I read the posts, a "goodwill attendee" is one and all who share a common interest in gathering and socializing and will support and congratulate the winner- winners, without malice. "If I couldn't win, I'm glad it was you." That force of comradery outweighs any and all external unpleastness.

    Lucky Lady No More!

Add another casino with a badly managed marketing department, Lady Luck!

After leading me on for the passed couple of weeks, I got hold of one of the hosts who told me the marketing dept. said, "they didn't want to mess with our tournaments". The head of the marketing department didn't even have the common courtesy to call me back and tell me "No".

No problem, I have another location already and several casinos that are offering a $19 per night rate and more important is they want our business.

What is so amazing is the week we are going out to Las Vegas is one of their slowest times of the year. Why a older downtown property is willing to turn away business make no sense to me.

I will post what casino(s) are willing to give the $19 rates later this week along with the tournaments location. All I can tell you now is they are along the strip.

    Sorry about last post!

Although I am upset with the Lady Lucky, I shouldn't try to take players away that have already made they arrangements to stay there.

I was going to cancel the tournaments, however I started getting several phone calls from players coming out to play in them. So I will still hold the 3 maybe even 4 Super Mini tournaments between Feburary 6th and 8th.

Since they will not be held a Ludy Lucky, I hope these tournaments in no way take away from the Global-Player and BJT.com get together.

Everybody is invited base on avaliblity. The tournaments will have between 30 minimum to 54 maximum players per tournament.

Entry will be $130.00 for the 1st tournament, $130 for the 2nd tournament and $230 for the 3rd tournament. The $30 in each entry will cover expenses for each tournament.

Please Private Message me if you want to play. The first 54 will get in, I will send you the location when you sign-up.

Hurting for business or Hurting busniess?

The location where I was going to hold the Super-Mini's in Feb. is going up on there prices. To cover the cost of the tournaments I would have to charge a $40 fee instead of the $30 I first quoted.

Before I make a commitment I need a list of players who are planning on playing in the Super-mini's on Feb. 6th and 7th. We need min. of 36 players at the $40 fee plus the $100 - $200 entry fee.

If we can get 54 players the fee would only be $30 still.

    Super Mini's Vegas

    Rick,

I know you have expenses to promote these events and have to cover them (it's not all going in your pocket) but a 40% underlay is more than I'm willing to participate in. Another personal consideration is I'm arriving Vegas 02/06/06 the 1st day of your proposed Mini's so that may be a problem in timing. A short answer to your inquiry is I'm 95% sure I won't participate in the mini's as things stand now.

    super minis Las vegas

    to all going in Feb
I had a call from one of the hosts today about the Lady Luck
He has left and moved to the Fitzgeralds
He will set us all up if we need it there
He will do 1st 2 nights comp & rest based on play, If Lady Luck is open in Feb (not set to close till after we leave) That is where I want to stay.
If it is not good I will be the 1st to move.
I do not know about the minis really depends on my budget to be honest.
Please do not set up for me or my schedule I am planning on the 4th to the 8th of Feb
If by the time the group arrives I am winning I may play if full so be it.
I just want to meet people & put a face with names.
    More social I guess.
