    Isle of Capri, Biloxi, MS.
I was told by my friend J.P. that the Isle was having a BJack tournament next Tuesday 11/13/07.
I emailed Denise K. (see phone #'s listed under The Isle's $1K entry fee tourn. thread) and she told me this tourn. is confirmed. Any questions should be directed to her.
Just forwarding information to our forum, not sure of the dynamics here.

  2. I wonder if they might repeat this next week. I will be down there next Sunday & Monday. It wouldn't be a big deal to stay another day.

    Isle of Capri Tourn.

I was told about this tourn. last week by an employee of the casino. After speaking with 3 separate personnelof the Isle, I was informed by Kathy that this tourn. was invitational for members of the SKA (Southern Kingfish Asso.) No open or buy-ins were to be accepted. End of story. Thanks Jim for the follow up. Its too late for me to enter but in the future I WILL CALL A HOST .

This tournament was created as an entertainment venue dedicated to the S.K.A. fishing tournament w/ open status for public entry. It must have started as an invite only and modified w/out telling all employees. Denise and Melanie are special events coordinators and they were told about these plans a week before the event. Sorry you didn't get the correct info when you inquired Mike. The best thing that my $100. entry fee represented was sitting and enjoying the company of several friends at Farraday's restaurant.

First place took in a little over $1700. cash. Last place was rooked with $200. in promo checks! (The rules said nothing of promo-check payout.)

We pay a $30. entry fee on every other Wed. to compete for $5K in prizes and promo-checks. I must have been temporarily overcome w/ dumbass coupled w/ missing the company of several good friends!

I really like the staff at this tournament and they are not responsible for it's flaws. I wish I could talk w/ someone who dictates policy because this casino could easily host a great tournament venue.

I was told this weekends tournament has around eighty players. This tournament will cancel if they don't get ninety-six entries. As you know it is extremely top heavy and expensive. After having the opportunity to catch up w/ my friends, I will take great pride in my new found discipline to keep the $1k entry for this tournament in my pocket and overcome the 'dumbass' conundrum.

P.S. How can they expect anyone to make plans for travel if they cancel and your accommodations for two nights cancel as well. Not to mention airfare and travel expenses.:flame:

    Jim,

Thanks for this thread and update(s).

I only wish they didn't have this weekends event at the same time as other events going on - see Vegas GN!

I'm confused by your subliminal "hint" - is there a possibility of another big event here at Isle in January?

    Subliminal.....

The Imperial Palace, Biloxi held a great tournament at the end of September and hinted about another tournament in January; hence the IPJanuary.

    September's tournament:

    $500. entry / $150. rebuy
$70K first place won by JoeP.
    Two night stay included
    24 hour cancellation policy
    Great Staff
Will post as soon as I get info...

    Good Luck.............
