That's right, I just got of the phone and I was told I had the okay to list this event, although the dates are set tenitive until next week, than I will post them on the event calendar.

The location of the first TBT and other TBJPA sanctioned events will be "The River Palms" in Laughlin on May 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th, 2007.

The tenitve schedule of events will be:

    May 10th: Thursday
12:00 noon: one to nine table satellite's.
Amounts ranging from $20 to $65 entry fees

    May 11th: Friday
10:00 am: one and two satellite's until 2:30 pm
    $20 to $60 entry fees

4:00 pm: the first TBJPA $150 + $15 entry tournament.

    May 12th: Saturday
10:00 am: the first TBT $300 + $30 entry tournament.

    May 13th: Sunday
10:00 am: another TBJPA $150 + $15 entry event tournament.

*Note: there will be a TBJPA due for all players of $40 which will cover the entire four days worth of tournaments. This fee can be won and will be included as part of the prize in all the satellite events.

All TBJPA sanctioned tournaments use the standard style elimination format.

Every TBJPA sanctioned tournaments are "OPEN" to all players (unless tresspassed at host location will be the only exception).

All players will be guaranteed a minimum of two re-buys, unless they refuse to play.

All tables will advance a minimum of two players throughout each tournament.

Wild cards will be made from the highest 3rd place finishers of the prior round (if needed, so more strategic play will be required and less luck from drawing names).

Basic TBJPA rules will be used:

    1. Starting bankroll will be $500 in NCV chips.

    2. Minimum bet of $5 to maximum bet of $200, in $5 increments.

    3. Dealer will stand on all 17's.

    4. Surrender will be offered, using the TBJPA surrender cards.

    5. Splits up to 3 times allowed, Aces only once.

    6. Double downs on any first two cards or after splits are allowed.

    7. No even money, insurance must be put up.

    8. Double downs and insurance for less will be allowed.

    9. No more than 6 players per table "EVER"!

    10. The deal will rotate and each round will consist of 24 minimum up to 36 hands.

These are just a few of the basic rules for the TBJPA, once the dates are confirmed I will post a link to checkout the entire list of rules and at that time list the TBJPA members on the rules commitee.

Also the TBJPA will try too get the best possible room rates for all tournament players (starting with casino rates) when ever possible. I am also working on discounted airfare, as of now the TBJPA only has a 5% discount from American Airlines, but I am working on getting more airlines onboard and discounted rental car's as well.

I hope to see everybody at the River Palms come May.

PS. the Tulsa Cherokee events will be at the end of the month so don't worry about any over lapping on these events.

I will try my best to schedule around any of the bigger tournaments and when possible back them up with the TBT tournaments if in the same location. If their aren't any others (like in May) I just host multiple events so travel will be worth it for the out of town players.

I want the TBJPA events to be the most player friendly anywhere around.

Hopefully I will be posting some more locations within the next month, but for now we have May at the River Palms and June on the blackjack cruise.
*** Administrator's Note: I assume that should be JULY, not June for the blackjack cruise. ***

I hope this is just the start of a lot more locations and hoefully close locations for all the players.

Here's wishing Aces and Faces to everyone!!!!!!

Finally, damn I just started working on them in the summer...LOL

Yea, it does seem longer, but I think I start with the TBJPA idea around June of last year and with only one person doing the work and very limited funds I feel pretty good about getting started this early.

I see your from AZ. RKuczek, you'll be happy to know I am talking with a casino from Scottsdale and one in the Phoenix area. Hopefully I can get some tournaments even closer for you...LOL.

    Tex drives it home

This guy is a true ambassador of this game. We see it as he unselfishly helps people like Reachy get to his first game. He works to help people like wildwoods. He brings people together. Altho there has been an organized effort to bring him down he keeps trying to make this game good for all. Thanks a lot for your efforts.

Rick congratulations on landing your first casino, for your tour.My question is why are the dates still tentative and yet announced?

One other point Rick don't stop short or Barneys brown spot on his nose will become Barneys broken nose with a brown spot

    Only if you play...

Pockettnz, the Tournament Blackjack Players Association (TBJPA) doesn't charge an up front fee. We only charge a monthly due if the player is playing at one of the TBT events. I won't charge unless your getting to play.

The fee will be $40 per player, however for every $40 fee a player pays he/she will get $50 off the end of the year championship tournament entry fee, (so you'll pick up $10 for each tournament you play in). After all shouldn't the players funding the championship event have to pay less, just makes common sence to me.

Hopefully we may be able to go to a smaller fee as we grow. The TBJPA will as try it's best to get you the best possible room rates (at the host casino), airfares (5% discount from American at this time), and rental car fees (I am working to get a discount with a few companies) when coming to one of our events.

I feel if you are paying in a fee, you should be getting something in return and I'm trying my best to do just that.

Feel free to ask any questions you want about the TBJPA and the TBT. I'll try and get back with you ASAP. The TBJPA can't and won't work without all of your support.

    Thanks

    Rick Jensen (TXtourplayer) aka: Cowboy

And Lou, to answer your question. The manager at River Palams told me I could post about the event and it would happen in May, he just wanted to double check the weekend dates of the 10th - 13th.

    None scheduled...

I don't have any scheduled at this time locally. I have been working on the TBJPA and TBT events along with playing in tournaments myself.

Sorry, I guess I could throw a small BJ event together one night for about 12 or more players. Let me know what dates you'll be in.

Other than the $40 fee and the 10% vig, the entire entry fees are paid in prizes at each event?

    TBT's

I'll await the official report from Joe Friday and Bill Gannin. Their investigative work should garner page ONE, with picture, in the LA TIMES.

Norman What The Hell Are You Talking About?:d :d

    What I'm talking about:

    Lou 714:

714 was Dragnet's Joe Friday's Badge Number. His partner was Bill Gannin.
And together they gathered, in and around ,all the glamourous and not so glamourous suburbs of LA "just the facts, ma'am." And once the "FACTS" were known, they were published in the paper. In them thar old days, you could half believe what you read in the paper as the "Truth and the Whole Truth." Cause, in "this is the city and there are a million stories in the city," only a select few get recognition.

SOoooooooo. Once the facts and the truth are known about TBT, publishing them HERE, would be akin to a Front Page story in the LA Times.

Though I must ramble on and admit, there are some who doubt the validity, or valuable essence of the LA TIMES. But dat's political.

But it is a Fack, Jack, that Joe Friday will get to the bottom of it.

And this by no means is an endorsement or demeanment of THE TBT and it's management and board of directors. And no money, consideration, favour, or trade in kind, was received for posting this opion.

    Btw

Check my checking of this, but I looked at the room cost for 4 nights of this event and they were near 200$. Also, my guess is and this is only a guess, playing BJ at 25$ a hand will get you and easy rate cut and some food to boot.
    fwiw.

So I guess with a $25 per hand requirment, and you who wont play anything above a $1 tournament, you will be home posting more useless information here while some BJT members will be in your backyard competing against the Laughlin Mini Tournament players who have been called,The Toughest Tournament Players ever to be discovered :p

I guess that could be called a good thing I know just reading your post put me to sleep  , what effect will it have on most in person :vomit:

  20. Thanks for all the time and effort you have put into this endeavor TX. This seems like a really good thing. Hopefully, years from now, we can bore people with stories about how we got in on the ground floor of this huge organization.
