Hey I wanted to find out if anyone was interested in this group cruise in November 2007.

It is a 7-night cruise on the newest Carnival ship Freedom. This is a pleasure cruise during Thanksgiving Week.

    The itinerary is the following:

Sat Nov 17 Leave from Miami
    Sun Nov 18 Sea Day
Mon Nov 19 San Juan Puerto Rico
    Tues Nov 20 St. Thomas
    Wed Nov 21 St Maarten
    Thurs Nov 22 Sea Day
    Fri Nov 23 Sea Day
Sat Nov 24 Dock in Miami

    Prices are as follows:
    Inside cabin (4A) 579+taxes = 636.72*
    Oceanview cabin (6A) 679+taxes = 736.72*
    Balcony cabin (8A) 829+taxes = 886.72*

*(included in this is a 100.00 on board ship credit and a bottle of wine/cabin)

The above prices are per person based upon two people in a cabin.

Because there are three (3) sea days it would lend itself to having BJ tourney’s during the sea days. The group has already reserved the meeting room.

I want to see if there is any interest in this from people here. At this time this is just a REGULAR CRUISE. However, if there were enough people interested I would see about the addition of 2 or 3 BJ tourney’s.

If you are interested, or want further details, please PM me.

    Nice Deal

Fred if you are running it and going count me in.Sounds like a nice deal even without the tournaments. $829 for a balcony cabin which includes a $100 credit. How did you get us such a good deal?

Let me guess Mrs. FGK is kicking back some of her commissions?

As much as I would like to take credit - it's all the wife on this one.

    Several other factors:

    1. Time of year
    2. This sailing will be the inagural Eastern Carribbean sailing of this ship, Carnival's biggest, newest and Best, The Freedom
    3. Block of rooms is reserved at this time.
    4. Finally - she's a great talker and worked them hard for the credits, etc...

The only question I have is this: is there a demand for another BJ cruise. I know that TX is having one and his results have been great. If there is enough demand I thought, why not have one in the fall - it's a great cruise price by itself but with 3 sea days it lends itself perfectly for Blackjack tourney's!

Just as with Carnival Liberty, Carnival's newest ship -- the still-at-the-shipyard Carnival Freedom -- will feature a decor that has little to do with its name. That's no big deal, as long as people don't expect a red-white-and-blue motif -- because they won't find it here. (Well, there is one exception -- the Freedom restaurant, the ship's lido eatery, will be decorated with a replication of the Statue of Liberty.)

Instead, the interior theme of its public rooms, overseen by Joe Farcus, Carnival's longtime designer, will focus on "a journey through the centuries by decade." Rooms will reflect everything from ancient Babylonia to Louis XIV's opulence and from the 19th-century Victorian era to the heyday of disco.

    Highlights include:

The Victoriana Show Lounge. Honoring Britain's Queen Victoria, the ambience evokes the 19th-century theaters of London's West End and features ornate moldings, crystal chandeliers, marble and gold leaf.

The Chic and Post Dining Rooms. Fast-forward to the over-the-top affluence of the 1990's, reflected in "a special wood veneer laminated in a fashionable python skin pattern."

The Babylon Casino focuses on the era's most famous king (Hammurabi, in 1000 B.C.) and its decor is themed around the Hanging Gardens of ancient Babylon.

The Monticello Library, an homage to Thomas Jefferson, will evoke the 1770's.

And paying tribute to the jazz age is Scott's Piano Bar, named for Scott Joplin.

Otherwise, the biggest surprise about Carnival Freedom, the fifth Conquest-class "Fun Ship" in the fleet, isn't so much its innovative amenities or facilities (though it's got some) but rather its inaugural-year itineraries. The previously Europe-shy Carnival, which first dipped a toe into the waters of the Mediterranean in 2005 with Carnival Liberty, will assign this vessel there too.

Otherwise, Carnival Freedom will feature signature Carnival amenities -- 22 lounges and bars, bigger-than-average standard staterooms, a high ratio of balcony cabins, a nine-deck-high atrium, an Internet Cafe, a huge spa and Camp Carnival for kids.

Stay tuned for more announcements on onboard amenities.

PS - I just want to find out IF there is any interest. For many people Thanksgiving week is spent with their family - I prefer to take my family on a cruise . If you are interested in this cruise for November 17-24, just PM me and I'll answer any questions

The price looks great, but the schedule may be a killer for many people.

    Taboo...

Yea, the time span between a week before Thanksgiving to Christmas is tournament down time for me. If I left the family during that time, I'd be looking for a new place to live when I got back...LOL

That is also my "Taboo" time for my events as well. I find it is the hardest time to get players to come play for two reasons.

    1. The Holidays - the extra expenses and leaving the family.

    2. Several casinos host early December tournaments and they will divide to many of your players up between each other.

    But.....

That's why I want to find out IF there is enough interest.

TX as far as the family - with prices this low bring them along!

What better way to enjoy Thanksgiving than on a cruise.....

No cooking.....no cleaning up.....great food onboard.....lying by the pool....

Watching the Lions get beat up and the cowboys - (to early to tell about them  )

I started doing Thanksgiving cruises 3 years ago and I wouldn't do it any other way!

But yeah, I understand if you've got a large family it could get expensive. It's amazing though how many families are doing thanksgiving cruises - beat Grandma's place :p
