The new BlackjackTournaments.com is coming... We've covered a lot of ground together since BJT first appeared back in November of 2003. After almost 10 years, it's time for a remodel. The new look for the site is coming on Friday, September 27th. Sometime in the morning on that day I'll shut the site down for maintenance and convert all the data. I expect the site will be back up and running by midday. So, stay tuned, and get ready for a platform that I hope will serve our community for another 10 years.

Out of interest, is this all still using vBulletin, or have you switched to an alternative? And will the conversion leave the contents of PM boxes intact?
No, we're switching to XenForo. Existing private messages will be converted automatically, although they are now known as "Conversations". XenForo has a lot of new features in that area.
I thought that would probably be the case; just thought I'd make sure. (My PM box is currently 99% full. It occurs to me that that might cause an issue if the new forum offers a smaller quota for such things.)
Updates are off to a rough start today, although it actually has nothing to do with the BJT update. When I first logged in this morning, I saw that there was a new Linux kernel version. These come out every couple of months, and I install them promptly. However, for the first time ever, the server never came back up after rebooting. I had to request help from my provider to get the server responding again. Finally all is OK now. I may postpone the actual software update a bit since I'm getting a much later start today than anticipated. More soon.
Well, my day is officially shot. After getting the server back up and going, I got side-tracked trying to fix our home phone service, which is on the blink. After unplugging all our devices, climbing around in the attic, climbing around under the house, and fiddling with some of the phone jacks inside the house, I'm no closer to fixing the problem than when I started. It works fine at the telephone company's test jack outside, so it's definitely an inside wiring issue. Needless to say, I've made no further progress on BJT. Maybe tomorrow.
