    I'm starting a new thread because of a point that was raised by two members who live in WA and I was confused about their comments. However since that thread deals with extracurricular activities in the Seattle area I didn't want to go off on a tangent.

    In WA there are Indian gambling establishments and state sponsored card rooms? Am I correct in that understanding?

    Forgive my ignorance as I only play in AC, Tunica, Biloxi and Vegas. But what is the difference and why no slots in WA?

    fgk;

    you are correct with your comment about there being tribal casinos, and state licensed casinos/card rooms. the state licensed casinos, i believe, may have up to 15 tables of various games, while their locations are usually in towns. i do not know what the limit of numbers of tables at the tribal casinos are, (rebuy bob would know this). the tribal casinos have ample slots and are generally "mega" style casinos, on their reservations. one being emerald queen casino, which is right on the side of interstate 5. very easy to get to.

    the simple reason that the state licensed casinos to do not have slots, is that the tribes have a kept them out with a powerfull lobby effort in the state's government.

    the state licenced casinos would of course like to see this law changed in the near future. also remember, it is a state law, of $200 limits at the tables.

    So the tribal casinos are like "real" casinos - smoker and all. Are there ante's like at the tribal casinos in OK?

    At the "state" casinos do they have other table games like craps?

    no ante's in wa., like ok., thank god !!!!

    state licensed casinos, run various table games, bj, (dd-6d) three-four card poker, let it ride, uth, texas shoot-out, and the chosen game of this area, pai-gow. also, fair poker action at most times of the day. no craps in the state licensed casinos.

    The closest tribal (ie full service) casino to the Iron Horse is Muckleshoot which is only 3 miles, in case anyone is interested in slot action. Have not been there myself but I understand there is a large non-smoking section and excellent restaurants.
