This Thursday May 25 Kenny and I will have on Jean Scott the "Queen of Comps". She is also know as the Frugal Gambler. So make it a point to stop by and listen to the show this Thursday night at 6 PM Pacific Time .

Dan Rather dubbed her "The Queen of Comps" on 48 Hours. Dateline NBC followed Jean through the casinos, filming her strategies for playing the right games and maximizing comps (short for complimentaries, those freebies handed out by casinos).

The show airs locally on KLAV 1230 am here in Las Vegas

    or on the internet at

    Queen of Comps

Jean Scott was a great guest on the radio show and came over as a really nice and lovely person.

When the guy’s did the interviews (I don’t know much about comps) but got the impression that the casinos where using Jean as part of their promotions. I wish Joan well and hope that she continues to take money out of them, but I can’t see the likes of Joe Pane etc getting the same benefits.

    Maybe it’s me being sceptical.

Just to say that I am enjoying the diversity of the guest’s on the radio show. Bring on the Mills brothers from American Casino.

    Jean Scott and comps

    Droogie:
It's a paradox. She and her husband play the best machines and put in what it takes to hit.

Casino mentality is that machines always win in the long run, but someone winning at blackjack over time must be cheating.

I've ventured this(that) question to some of the gurus and they just shake their heads.

Most machine players won't take the time to learn the edge they could have, if with the proper bankroll, they played the proper machines.

It's similar to someone buying in on an on line site and playing the required hands, pulls, etc to get their bonus. Some people...that's all they do. Look for that edge and work it to the max.

Is it as much fun and as much a thrill as a doubled max bet in blackjack. I don't know. That's why there are arbitragers.

    Good Guest

Well maybe not the Mills brothers.
Any chance of Daniel Wunderlich appearing on the radio show.
Daniel sorts out Blackjack tournamets every week and has the respect of the players.
Based in Germany at the moment I am sure KLAV could get a line to him and some interesting storys could be be told about tournament games on the net.
We all know and love him as PUMI.
