How about mp3s of your shows to download? I subscribe to podcasts regularly and would like to listen to yours, but on my own free time.

    My Own Free Time ?

    justlsuteddy,
The radio shows are great, sacrifice a little and tune in on time it's only 1 hour and aired twice a week, surely you can fit that in your busy schedule. The world can not revolve around your schedule and demands no matter how important you are.

    Show replays

I was going to ask the same thing. Everyone knows that I'm a die-hard fan but I've only been able to catch half of one show because of other summer commitments. I need to know from the techno-geeks if there is any way to record the show. I have a DVD writer on my computer and would be willing to get any other hardware/software needed to accomplish recording the shows.

    Thanks :)

I think I've got this worked out.

Download and install the free SDP Downloader 2.0 software here:
    http://sdp.ppona.com/

You can use it to record from the KLAV audio stream. Use this URL for the radio station:
    http://64.92.199.76/KLAV-AM

Once you set the station, the software has a VCR timer option. Click 'VCR Time' to set the start and stop time, then click 'VCR on' to turn on the recorder.

    This is so COOL

Thank you so much....I hope I did everything right and I probably should test it before Thursday. Ken you never cease to amaze me in the depth of your knowledge. I sure wish I'd asked before I missed your show! Thanks again.

Ken, great idea. Thanks. I don't mean to seem totally lazy, but maybe someone can volunteer to record it and post it to a server for the rest of us. It would at the very least save the radio station bandwidth costs. :)

Rookie, I understand your comments but time shifting television and radio programs is common practice today and I think your post was a bit obnoxious. Get a Tivo or subscribe to a few Podcasts on iTunes and you'll never go back.

PS Of course we need to ask the provider for permission first before posting the program on the internet.

    Thanks Ken!

I was able to listen to tonight's show by "taping" it and listening later thanks to Ken's post. The software works great! Kenny E needs to take justlsuteddy's suggestion and archive shows on his website! The shows are great too!

    Open or Invitational

Re: Joep's post of 1 August addressing a major announcement scheduled for Mr. Einiger's radio program on 4 August.

I do not wish to steal anyone's thunder from the program, and I'll be listening via the internet if I am able and I do not forget and thunderstorms don't knock out the power.
But, Joep, to relieve some anxiety of those who visit these boards can you at least post here the answers to two questions:
__Is this the long-rumoured "2-Million Tournament"?
__if it is not the $2-Million Tournamant, is this an open tournament or another made-for-TV invitational event?

    Thanks!

    Hopefully both

I do know that a new Made for TV Blackjack tour is set for 10 shows, but with any luck at the meeting later this week an announcement for the 2 million maybe finally made as well.

My questions mimic Philly's, will this be a major announcement regarding 10 televised open tournaments available for all to qualify or a major announcement that the majority is not invited to participate and we should check the TV guide on a weekly basis for the airing. There is really no difference between "Pros" being banned from a major land based casino tournament and "Non Pros" being banned from a televised event, both are based on management decisions for corporate profit and neither is fair to participants or non participants.

I know about the TV for sure

Right now it is just selected few for TV, I won't bullshit you. At the present I have been one of those selected, I am sure based off of my finals apperance on last years WSOB II.

I wish I could tell you all that you will all have a chance to be on TV soon, but I don't know. I hear about plans for such events all the time, but so far nothing concrete.

I am still working as is Joep and Kenny E. to make things happen in the blackjack tournament world. The cruise tournaments I started were a way to show the casinos that if we had tournaments designed the way the players wanted that we would support them hosting the events. As of yesterday I believe we have less then 60 players signed up for four tournaments (desighed by the majority rule). Where is the support? I really didn't expect 300 players, but I thought a 150 easy.

I was hoping that GSN would give the winners of each of my tournaments a seat on next years WSOB III. With only 50 plus players I hope they say hi to us.

I was hoping for enough support from the BJ tournament players that these tournaments would make a difference to some of the land based casinos, but so far all it has done is shown that unless they give-a-way a chance at TV or $25,000 is added to the prize pool that the players won't support the events.

I wish I could tell you something different, I understand that everybody wants a shot at being on TV. But please understand it isn't all about who you know most everyone of the contestants have done something in the world of blackjack, written books, been on a team, offer players info on web sites, and myself always trying to better tournament formats and conditions for all the players however I can.

Please don't think that tournament blackjack is something that I started last year, I had my casino company for over 22 years and been playing tournaments since 1985 and last year was the first time to ever be on TV.

I don't want you to think that all these players are just picked because of someone they know, they have pay their dues to get here. The dirt road has ended and it is nicely paved and they desever the chance to drive on it first. Once the road is finished it should be open to everybody to drive on.

I promise it is coming, you may have to win your way on, but you chances will be coming, when is the only question.

    Qualifications for "Made for TV".

Let's not forget that one gentleman was picked primarily because he had breast implants. Half the participants were legit. Half were not and were simply "juiced in".
I do think however that that the show promotes BJ tournaments and that's good. :joker: :joker: :joker:

    Agree

BJfan4 I agree that on the WSOB II there were some "Gimmick" personalities that were invited, but it was open to everybody. Ken Smith posted on this site that GSN was looking for players and the contact information and that is how several from this site including myself got on last years show. Other then when I sent my Bio in to GSN last year I haven’t contacted any other networks or production companies to try and be on anything else.

I will suggest one thing to anybody wanting to be on a show, “DON”T CONTACT THEM” unless they are asking for players. They don’t like people that try to push their way in. That is the best way to never be asked on any show.

Hopefully everybody will have the same opportunity again this next year for WSOB III.
And if any of these new blackjack tours take off that are in the works it will give all of us the opportunity to play on TV.

    Cruise Tournament

    Rick,

I investigated the October Cruise and wanted to attend but I don't do well sharing rooms with males I don't know and the price was $1,700 plus for a single cabin in addition to the $1,200 or so tournament fees so I was looking at $3,000 for the trip not including air fare and hotel the night prior to the cruise so about $3,500 total. I recently (3 years ago) was on a group 4 day 3 night Mexico cruise with Carnival for $385 for a single cabin which included 2 days at sea that multiple tournaments could have been held. I'm not saying this cruise was an overkill but maybe the 1st one should have been less expensive that more would attend then build on that.

this was put in the wrong thread, sorry.

    I understand

My thinking was to have an 8 night cruise so we could host more tournaments (4 major and several mini's or sit and go events).
The cost was very good early on for an 8 night cruise, however the prices have gone up.
