Hi I am new to BJ tournaments I know a little about them. My question is how good is the caliber of players playing in weekly 500$ winning Tournaments or monthly tournaments at small casino's not in major towns? I talked to couple people that played at regular BJ tables they didn't even know perfect BS, so I thought maybe I could take advantage of this situation.I am worried if I CC in tournaments I will expose myself to the casino.I know it doesn't make much a difference in the Tournament game except for playing situations. I figure I still could count without a problem since all the effort use for cover I could use for tournament strategies.

I almost forgot this thread from this morning.

If your area is typical, you'll likely find some pretty decent players in the weekly events. After all, what better way to practice than to play every week. Of course, those players who don't play basic strategy at the table are also unlikely to play well in a tournament.

So, you'll probably find a handful of really competent players, and the rest are just average players who will make a lot of mistakes.

As for worrying about being identified as a counter, I wouldn't worry much. In general, your tournament bets will coincide with the count much less frequently than when you're playing the live tables.
