Can anyone tell me the specifications for chips used in tournaments? I am interested in diameter(are all 37mm), thickness, weight, material, and what colors have you seen? Wher is the best place to purchase them?
Any help will :) be greatly appreciated.

    Lots to pick from

The sizes are pretty much standard, the weights vary along with the design style of chips (soild, stripped, & spoted) and what they are made of.

I have and use over 50,000 chips for my parties and tournaments from plastic, nylon, & clay are the most popular.

The weights vary from 4 grams up to 13.2 grams per chips. Your 11 gram and higher are usally what the casinos will use, but wach out for the "Dice" chips that are out now, they are plastic with a lead weight in side, but charge more for the weight.

Most chips are made in China and if you know some one you can get them for $ .02 each for 11 gram chips, over here your looking at around $ .65 on up for the same chips.

Depending on how many you need and what you want on them, I might sell you some of mine.

Paulson's (the Cane & Hat design chips) stopped making personal chip's about a year ago I heard.

The Gamber's General store in Las Vegas on Main St. just before downtown is a good place for chips and other gambling supplies. If you call them or stop by you can get a free catalog. You can buy stock items or custom order your chips.

    Hope this helps.

    where to buy chips?

    Springbac,
There is currently as of today 12,000 individual listings of poker chips for auction on ebay, new and used. After looking at just a few of the 12,000 listings it looks like you can buy 500 new clay 11.5 gram chips for 8 to 11 cents per chip which includes an aluminum carrying case and shipping costs.

There Is 1 Player That May Be Able To Help You

To answer that question would be difficult since there are so many different chips that are used in different tournaments. There is one player I have in mind that might really be able to help you.He sometimes takes chips home with him and brings them back for the next tournament where the extra chips may help him advance.Of course this is totally illegal but he never seems to mind stuff like that.Think TALL...................... :eyepatch:
