Tournament currency question

With other parts of the world to be represented in the event calendar, I need to deal with the currency in use for entry fees and prize money.

I am trying to decide how the currency should be set and stored.

    Here are the possibilities:

    1. A country has a native currency, and all events in that country are assumed to use that currency.
    2. A casino has a currency, and all events in that casino are assumed to use the same currency, but other casinos in the same country might use a different currency.
    3. An event has a currency, and the same casino might hold other events with fees and prizes in another currency.
I tend to think that #1, the country-level currency setting, will be sufficient.

Does anyone know of exceptions, where a casino does not hold events in their native currency?

    Yes

Many casinos overseas do not use their local currencies. They use US dollar or Euro.

    Thanks.

OK, so option 1 is out.
Would a single casino potentially have events in more than one currency?

    No

    Very unlikely

There is the potential for the casino to merely be the location hosting the event, while the actual organisers are another entity altogether, such as an online casino. So there could conceivably be two different events at the same location with different organisers and different currencies.

I think I will set currencies at both the casino level and the event level just to be safe. The event currency will default to the casino's setting, so it won't be any bother to enter it, but we'll have the ability to change it if necessary.

    Thanks all.
