The August Schedules show an invitational tornament at the Flamingo, Las Vegas August 4-6, 2006.

Since I am normally invited to Flamingo tournaments, I called to inquire about this, and learned the tournament is actually scheduled August 17-19.

My question is...who is responsible for the accuracy of these schedules as posted on this web site?

    Schedule accuracy

    That would be me Fredguy,
The vast majority of the event updates are posted by our members for others to view. Sometimes the event dates are changed, or may be incorrectly posted. Thanks for the update, I'll check and correct it if needed.

    Can him Ken

Ken fire Swog's ass, we can't have him posting false information to the players...LOL

Just kidding, I for one really appreciate all the hard work both Ken and Swog do on this site. Without it most of us would miss the majority of these upcoming tournaments. ;)

Keep up all the good work guys. :D

in Swog's defense, I called the Famingo about this event a couple of weeks ago, and they quoted me Aug. 4-6., also.

    Flamingo dates

I was the one who posted the Flamingo tournament on the Calendar, not SWOG. I have in front of me the the printed invitation from the Flamingo and the dates are indeed Aug 4 to 6. Also, these dates (Aug 4 to 6) appear under "my offers" on Harrah's web site.

There may be some confusion with the person you talked to at the Flamingo because the Flamingo has a SLOT TOURNAMENT (Millionaire Maker) scheduled for Aug 17 to 19 . If you normally get Flamingo invites, did you get this one?

Do to the possible error on the Flamingo part, you may want to call the Flamingo to verify the BJ date if you registered for it.

Just a quick note: Anyone can post a tournament on the Calendar. That is the way Ken Smith set it up and it enables the calendar to contain more info than just one or two people making the postings. I have found that all the posting are made with diligence and it's really rare when I find an error. But we are all human and errors do happen (as in this case, where you assumed the person making the posing made the error). However, in this case, it looks like it is the Flamingo's fault for either sending out wrong dates in their literature or the person at the Flamingo who gave you the info.

    Casino Confusion as Normal

I called my host yesterday and entered the Flamingo "Double Down Saloon" tournament Aug 4 to 6 and then called Special Events today after reading posts in this forum. The Flamingo does have a tournament later in August but with a different name and smaller prize fund ($10,000 first), I would advise anyone interested to do their own homework and confirmation of event dates.

    Flamingo Tournament

I have no idea who SWOG is, but I hereby sincerely apologise.

It sounds like the person I talked to at the Flamingo, had no clue what she was taking about.

How much are you willing to pay each member, who posted under this thread, to delete their respective posts before KenSmith finds out about this?

    Call first always!

It really doesn't matter what is posted in the event calender, a player should always call first to confirm that the dates are correct and no changes have been made.

Oh, thanks to everyone for sticking up for me, but he asked, so I answered.

    Mid August Flamingo Tournament

The official invitation came yesterday. It's called "$25,000 this ain't your daddy's blackjack tournament."

According to the little brochure.....it will have a poolside venue. An outdoor tournament in Vegas in AUGUST?

The invitation shows a picture of three females players, each wearing a bikini.
So i assume that will be required dress for the ladies. There are no men pictured, so I guess we can wear anything we want.

I assume that female dealers will also wear bikinis.I'm reminded of a time several years ago, somewhere in the Carrebbean, where one swam, or waded, to a blackjack table where the stools were under water, and the dealer wore a bathing suit.Which in turn reminded me of playing blackjack in London at the Playboy club/casino forty years ago,, where the dealers were absolutely gorgeous playboy bunnies. This then reminded me of playing blackjack at a small casino on St. Martins where the dealer was topless.
    But I digress.

See you all poolside at the Flamingo, next month.
