UB/ePasporte Payment Issue for BJ PLayers

They have blocked my last three withdrawal attempts on ePass without any explanation, and after repeated phone calls and e-mails, I finally I get this explanation after TWO WEEKS of queries. They have also blocked my Wire Transfer requests recently, so I expect them to say that they cannot do Wire Transfers for the same reasons.

ePassporte did not make this decision. I checked with them. UB has decided this, and I am pulling all BJ related funds immediately for fear that I will not be allowed to withdraw in any way shape or form.

Sorry if some might consider this stirring the pot, but the lack of information together with the blocked transactions (UB action, not ePass) is WAY BEYOND ACCEPTABLE.

    Dear Kaminari,

    Thank you for your correspondence.

After reviewing your account we noticed that you are playing Blackjack. Kindly be informed that ePassporte do not allow Blackjack transactions, therefore if you wish to play Blackjack you would need to choose an alternate payment method.

If you are wish to play Poker please inform us so that we can update your account allowing you to deposit by ePassporte.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require further assistance.

    Thank you

Not pot stirring at all. This appears to be an important piece of information.

Oh my. This sounds very, very bad.

Unless this is some sort of massive confusion, I think this might be a major problem for EBJ at UB/Bet21.

    Incredible...

not long ago I asked CS what would be the best option to Neteller and they sent me this e-mail (already posted somewhere else) :

Here's the e-mail I received from CS to my query:

    "Dear xxxx,

The best option maybe to use Epassporte. This is a very similar option like NETeller that players may deposit and withdrawal with. So we would suggest using this service on the site.

Please do not hesitate to contact us back if you require further assistance or additional information.

    Best regards,

Elim BJ is "Skill Based" Like Poker?

    Guys,

Ken, can you ask your contacts just what the hell is going on?

I believe we may be seeing the beginning of a distinction between "skill based" games with prizes as opposed to "gambling", at least for US-based players. It is possible Elim BJ may be consdered "skill based", and thus remain available.

The worst case I see is that US players get locked out completely from the site. UB some time ago invested in security software that allows them to identify IP address locations by geography and set up rules for what can be done from those IP addresses. The implication would be that UB are going to make certain games unavailable to people in geographies where legal liabilities are too great for their own risk tolerance.

With either of the above, then what's to stop them from saying I can't collect from the regular BJ play I have been doing online because of where I live?

I have thousands in winnings tied up right now and I am afraid they will tell me next that I can't collect at all - what's more is that some are from Elim BJ, some are from regular BJ, and some from poker, and it appears that because I have played BJ at all, ALL of my funds are being stopped from being transacted, at least via Click2Pay or ePassporte .:flame:

I will keep this board advised if they refuse to disburse via Wire or Check.

Needless to say, I hope they will issue the Wire Transfer or Check as I want to keep playing the SNGs and Tourneys. As of this moment, I will not play regular BJ on Bet21.com/UB tables. Maybe that is what they want....I have won against their software, improbable as it may seem.

    UB intrusion

I recently had to invest in a new computer for business purposes, and it came with some pretty nifty anti-spyware. Every time I try to open up the freeroll UBT game, the anti-spyware opens up a new window saying that they want access to my computer, and asking if I want to allow it. Nope, you betcher sweet backside I don't. :flame:
I'll bet that's exactly what Kaminari is talking about.

I'd bet you a mocha latte at Starbucks that it's just trying to do an autoupdate check... it needs to check which version you have to determine if it should auto-download a new version from the UBT server.

    You are probably both correct

Both of these activities would likely set off your spyware, probably as part of the same executable thus only one alert. At least I would build it that way....

It is actually harmless activity, and if they are locking people out by geography, they have every right to do so at their disgression. In fact, they may be required to do so for legal reasons in the not-to-distant future.

Lets not forget, incompetent as UB might appear to be, the US Government stance towards our gaming activity is the real driver of this particular issue.

    Disabled after deposit

Yesterday I made a deposit on Bet 21 using ePassporte. Everything went fine with the deposit process, which Bet21 duly approved, until I tried to register for a game were I learned that my account was disabled. I got the following message :

"We're sorry, but Black Jack is currently disabled for your account. Our
agents are standing by to resolve this issue for you immediately, please
contact us at support@ultimatebet.com. Thanks for your patience and
    understanding."

The issue was not resolved "immediately" but only today. Here is their response :

    "Dear xxxxx,

    Thank you for contacting us.

Due to some ePassporte dispositions, the ability to play Blackjack has been disabled from your account as it creates conflicts with certain regulations.

We have enabled this option directly from the game. However, next time you wish to deposit, please contact our Deposit Center at our toll free number 1 866 605 0311. It will be our pleasure to assist you.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you require further assistance or additional information.

    Best regards,

Still waiting for an answer from CS on this. Any info would be appreciated. Is it the same for poker players? Living outside the USA, will I have a problem withdrawing from Bet 21 through ePassporte?

    ePassporte withdrawl

May make a difference if you originally signed up through Ultimate Bet or Bet21. I originally signed up through Ultimate Bet and have had no problems withdrawing to ePassporte. I did a test withdrawal last week after bjmace's warning.

The implication of the response which Archie received seems to be that you may not be allowed to play blackjack (only poker) after your next ePassporte deposit.
