Don't understand why this was posted in this category when there is a MAIN forum category for ULTIMATE BLACKJACK TOUR.

    I dont

Understand why you would make such a fuss over it!??

    The UBT thread specifically says

< Discuss the Ultimate Blackjack Tour on CBS.>

Forgive me for the abruptness in my prior post at the announcement of a new UBT location.

It is actually a move in the right direction and it should be applauded. However the cynicism is a result of previous UBT announcements and broken promises such as:

    • UBT tour stop every month
    • UBT tour stop in Paris – never materialized
    • UBT tour stop in Aruba in March – never materialized
    • UBT circuit event at Spirit Mountain – never materialized
    • UBT circuit event at Barona – changed within 3 weeks of event
    • UBT circuit event at Barona – cancelled
    • UBT Season 2 to air in May 2007 – postponed to September 2007
    • UBT weekly tournament at Palms – cancelled
    • UBT weekly tournament at Venetian - cancelled
    • 1,000,000 in prizes to be awarded (in conjunction with Bet21.com)

So you see just like the story of the boy who cried wolf after awhile players begin to have a “jaded” eye towards these “big announcements” – especially when you go to the official website and don’t see the information present.

Now with the announcement of a weekly UBT event that has a “Championship” associated with it I would hope that you and the folks at UBT have finally worked a reasonable solution.

Lowering the entry fee will introduce this format to many more players and when it is done in conjunction with the airing of Season 2 I would anticipate favorable results. My only final thought on this would be to have more than one casino doing this, for example a casino in Tunica (say Hollywood Casino) one in Biloxi (Imperial Palace) one in California (Barona), one in Washington State (Iron Horse), one in Bahamas (Crystal Palace), and one in Atlantic City (Trump Plaza or Borgata). Now have the top 1 or 2 of those final tables (after 3 months of weekly events) play for a UBT Championship Event at a UBT Partner like Venetian.

Just another of my “useless” ideas I guess

Not making a fuss. Simply saying that because it relates to UBT then it should be where the UBT threads are maintained, in one main category, for future reference instead of spread out all over the forum. ;) :D

But let's not get hung up on this, let's continue the discussion of the satellites mentioned. :)

    Yes!

If I were in control at UBT I would open the events, license wise, to those willing to try as a Mini event at this or that casino across the nation. UBT could send a "kit" to the casinos inviting them to try. This will open doors to the game. Unfortunate putting on a mini is about as hard as a major event. It seems to me a UBT EBJ would be harder to put on because of various rules and training the dealers. Much more room for players arguing rules. But open these evens JOEP to more casinos as MINIs! Kind of funny Joe is running this mini because he, at one time, chastised me for playing minis LOL.

BTW toolman peace:D swog, maybe it would be a good idea to clean up the Forum description under the heading, eliminate the CBS specific thing or something.

The purpose behind the varied UBT minis is to reach the largest possible target audience as possible and to do it in conjunction with the UBT on CBS. I mean if people watch the show, like it and want to play it with various weekly satellites you lowering the entry barrier to a large portion of the population.

The purpose behind having a Championship event at each casino is to “bring em back in” and then ship to the UBT base event and co-host the event with a UBT stop. That way you reduce the cost of taping the events.

Why those specific venues that I posted? Several reasons: 1. they aren’t Harrah’s properties (cuts out the corporate bs) 2. As independent casinos they have more leeway in negotiations and 3. All could use and relish the publicity/notoriety and last but not least I think the current tournament director hasn’t been 86’d from those properties!
