I just posted, on the "Event Calendar", two new entries for the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. On the 26th of this month, they are hosting a BJ Tournament with a total prize pool of $300,000. On April 21st, they will hold a BJ Tournament that pays $750,000 for first. These are of course invite only events....but that never stops some of us.........give them a call

    That Sucks, NOT!!!!!

$750,000 for 1st place, but all in promotional chips? And it is free to play in.

MMMmmmm......It would take me 1/2 a second to say yes if I got an invite.

Who cares if they are promo chips or not?

IT IS $750,000, if you only won one hand out of every three played you would end up with $250,000 dollars!

When I heard players say something like that it drives me crazy!

What the hell do you do where that much money isn't a big deal? I can promise you that me and 99.9% of the other members on this site would jump at the chance to play for $750,000 prize (promo chips or not)!

    Promo chips

First, I never said they were promo chips. They may be, but 3/4 Mil. is a great deal either way. If someone finds out.........let us know.

Second, promo chips are chips given out by the casino which must be put into play.
They will come as a "promo" chip which may be played alone. If the bet is won, they will exchange the promo chip for a real chip, which then may be cashed out. Sometimes a promo chip may be used over and over until the wager is lost, quite a bargain.

Or the chip may be a "match play" chip, which when played must be accompanied by an equal or greater amount of real chips. If won the match play chip will be switched with a real chip.

    Don't forget

Some places even when you win they switch out the promo chip for a real one. Not as good of a deal, but give me $750,000 and you won't hear me bitch!...LOL:D

    thanks for the clarification

 Yeah...I cant think of anyone except maybe a pro athlete that doesnt need that type of money...and think about it...if you are good enough to win the tournament even if they are promo chips then Im sure you are good enough to make a pretty fat profit. It sounds like a GREAAAAAAT deal to me

    Happy St. Patricks Day

one more thing...how does one get an invite to ANY tournament, not just this one in peticular?

    Invite

I posted the MGM tournament because I found the info. and figured if one person was able to get into this tournament because he/she read it on this site, then it was worth my time to post it. The problem with tournaments with this large of a payout is the fact that it won't be a life changing event for the winner. To get into this event he/she already has many times more than that in the bank already.

As far as getting into events you find posted in the Event Calendar, just call and tell them you want to play.

Not so easy to get in

AHHHH, if were only that simple. The calendar was recently updated (not by me or SWOG), $25,000 entry fee. Let's see what I have in my billfold. $1, $2, $12, $32, $33. Damn, I don't have enough.:(

The update also contained the following statement:
For highrollers, only. Need $500,000.00 average in table play to receive invite.
Of course I can't qualify, but can someone tell me what "average in table play" means? I am used to the casino's saying "$xxx average bet for xx hours".

TX, are we are getting close or what?

OK TX, now that we have the entry fee just about solved  , what about the "$500,000.00 average in table play"? This could create a problem.:yikes:

By the way, I still need to know what is meant by "average in table play"?

    Plus $500,000 average?

Damn Toolman, I thought it was just $25,000 entry (like that Just $25K...LOL).

O'well guess it is back to the $1 lottery!:(
