I played at the GN last weekend. For a 50,000 event the buy in was 100 with one (1) 100 rebuy. The format was 1 of 6 advances. Because only 1 per table advances I found it difficult. On my first try I was BR1 on hand 19. BR3 put outs a max bet (2,000), DD and wins the swing. So on the final hand there was no way to win. Even sicker on the re-buy round was the bad beat I got – but we’ve all been there, done that – who cares right? What I can say is this: there were LOTS of players. Over 400 was what I heard. There is definitely a demand for these lower limit events. The wildcard drawing was on Sunday and I’d say that over ½ of the names weren’t even present – indicating to me that a large contingent of players were locals. With regard to the Rampart UBT event – SOLD OUT.
