    Tourney rules:

    VEGOOSE BLACKJACK TOURNAMENT
    AT MGM GRAND LAS VEGAS
    FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2006

    TOURNAMENT RULES

    The Tournament will be held Friday, October 27, 2006 at MGM Grand at 2:30 p.m. Advanced tournament reservations can be made by calling MGM Grand Casino Marketing at 1-800-929-9410. All entrants must be 21 years of age or older. Proof of age in the form of a government issued picture ID is required. Check-in and payment of the $250.00 Tournament entry fee can only be done at the Tournament Registration Desk on Friday, October 27, 2006 between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. PST.

    Ø MGM Grand Blackjack rules apply except where changed by tournament rules.

    Ø Each player will receive $5,000 in non-cash value tournament chips at the beginning of each round, with the exception of the Final Round where each player will receive $10,000 in non-cash value tournament chips.

    Ø All tournament chips must remain in full view of the tournament judges at all times and stacked in denominational order. Tournament chips may not be exchanged, borrowed or loaned between players. Failure to follow these rules may result in the disqualification and forfeiture of any prize.

    Ø All bets and insurance will be made in order. You may only bet when it is your turn to do so.

    Ø All bets must be in multiples of $100, with a minimum bet of $100 and a maximum bet of $5,000.

    Ø Each player must participate in every hand of play.

    Ø When it is a player’s turn to bet, the player is expected to make their bet in a timely manner.

    Ø When a bet is placed in the betting circle, it cannot be changed.

    Ø If a player wanted a hit card, but was passed by, and the dealer’s hand has not been acted on, the dealer will hit out all the remaining players’ hands and return to the missed player prior to acting on the dealer’s own hand.

    Ø If a dealer acts upon a hand out of sequence by reverting to the natural 1st base, the dealer will finish out that hand completely, then go back to the marker and continue in the proper sequence.

    Ø If a dealer deals cards out of order and no one has acted upon their hand, all hands are dead.

    Ø No cards will be backed up under any circumstances.

    Ø If a player has less than the minimum bet remaining, the player will automatically be eliminated from play.

    Ø All tournament rounds will consist of 24 hands.

    Ø At the end of the session, each player’s remaining chips will be counted down and verified.

    Ø All chips must be accounted for before round results become official.

    Ø All players who did not qualify for the Quarterfinal and Semifinal rounds will be entered into a wild card pool and will have the opportunity to reenter the tournament through random drawings held before the Quarterfinal and Semifinal rounds.

    Ø Communication, either verbal or visual (e.g., signaling), will not be permitted between players and spectators. This may result in disqualification and forfeiture of any prize.

    Ø No written or mechanical aids will be permitted.

    Ø Participants are expected to be near the area of his/her scheduled sessions 15 minutes prior to the scheduled session start time.

    Ø Tournament participants will not be allowed to discuss betting strategy with other participants during play.

    Ø IT IS THE PLAYER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO COMMUNICATE HIS/HER DESIRED ACTION WITH THE DEALER.

    Ø Any player who violates the official rules or becomes offensive to other players may be disqualified and subject to forfeiture of any prize.

    Ø A player may be eliminated from play if he/she is in violation of tournament rules.

    Ø All disputes must be handled at the tournament table before the players leave the table.

    Ø In the event of a dispute, the decision of the MGM Grand Tournament Committee will be final.

    Ø MGM Grand house rules will prevail over any situation not covered in the tournament rules.

    Ø Prizes are based on 150 entrants.

    Ø Tournament entrants must be at least 21 years old and be able to provide proof in the form of a government issued picture ID.


    TOURNAMENT PLAY WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:

    v Round I - 2:30 p.m.
    13 tables x 6 players = Up to 78 players
    Top 2 from each game advance = 26 players

    v Round II - 3:30 p.m.
    12 tables x 6 players = Up to 72 players
    Top 2 from each game advance = 24 players

    v Quarterfinals - 4:30 p.m.
    9 tables x 6 players = 50 players + 4 wild cards
    Top 3 from each game advance = 27 players

    v Semifinals - 5:30 p.m.
    5 tables x 6 players = 27 players + 3 wild cards
    Top 1 from each game advance = 5 players

    v Finals 6:30 p.m.
    1 table = 5 players


    Prizes:*
    1st $15,000 in MGM Grand gaming chips
    2nd $10,000 in MGM Grand gaming chips
    3rd $ 5,000 in MGM Grand gaming chips
    4th $ 2,500 in MGM Grand gaming chips
    5th $ 1,000 in MGM Grand gaming chips

    $3,000 for Charity
