    ULTIMATE BLACKJACK TOUR (UBT) EXCITEMENT
    CONTINUES WITH LIVE ACTION SIT AND GO’S AT
    THE VENETIAN RESORT-HOTEL-CASINO

    Las Vegas, Nevada (March 07, 2007) – Excitement is building onThe Venetian gaming floor with the announcement ofweekly UBT Elimination Blackjack™ Sit and Go’s. Every Friday night beginning March 16th from 8pm – 2am, players are invited to participate in these exciting, fast-action tournaments with $100, $250 and $500 buy-ins.

    Adopting the newest form of Elimination Blackjack™, The Venetian Sit and Go’s will be performed ‘turbo’ style. In this new format, mandatory elimination hands move to the 5th, 10th and 15th rounds. As with the traditional format in the UBT, the player with the least amount in chips at the end of an elimination round will automatically be eliminated from the game. In six-handed ‘turbo’ style Sit and Go’s, each table will play up to 21 rounds and the player with the highest chip count at the end of the 21st round will be declared the winner.

    “Elimination Blackjack is an exciting twist on an old favorite,” stated John Zaremba, director of table games. “We are proud to be the first and only casino on the Strip to offer UBT Sit and Go’s. We believe that our players will be excited with this new ‘turbo’ game format and are projecting a sizable turnout every Friday night.”

    “UBT has had a lot of success in its first year and The Venetian has been a tremendous partner in it,” said Larry Kopald, chief marketing officer and GM of UBT. “Our TV show ended Season 1 with a bang of nearly two million viewers- as Elimination Blackjack is quickly becoming the most popular type of blackjack tournament out there. Aside from being one of our Charter tour members, The Venetian has given us great visibility on the Strip, and continues to offer players more and more opportunities to play the game. The Sit and Go’s, especially with the new turbo format, are just one more example, and will hopefully make The Venetian an even hotter destination on Friday nights.”

    Play will begin at 8pm as soon as all six seats are filled. The payout structure at each buy-in is as follows:
    $ 500 entry tables pay $1900 first place and $950 second place.
    $ 250 entry tables pay $950 and $450
    $ 100 entry tables pay $360 and $180

    All UBT rules and regulations will be in effect and can be accessed at the Ultimate Blackjack Tour’s official website, www.playubt.com. For more information, please inquire at The Venetian Players Club or call (702) 414-4116.

    The red hot Ultimate Blackjack Tour (UBT) partnered with The Venetian in November 2006 to deliver its version of the world’s most popular casino game to the Las Vegas Strip for the first time ever. The Venetian UBT Invitational included a prize pool of over $100,000. The final six players were flown to Los Angeles in January where they competed in a UBT television show that will air during Season Two on CBS, which begins in May ‘07. The winner of the event also received a $10,000 buy-in to UBT's year-end Tournament of Champions, which boasts a $1 million guaranteed first prize and an estimated $2 to $3 million total prize pool. In addition to the new Elimination Blackjack™ Sit and Go tournaments, The Venetian will host a UBT tour stop in July 07 that will be open to the public for a buy-in of $2,700.

    From what I can see, this is an open event. If so, I'll be in LV during the Mar. 23, 2007 sit & go. I'll probably give it a shot. Anyone else planning on being there on 3/23/07?

    PS:
    Don't really care if it's UBT format or not. I like the idea of BJ Sit & Go. Wish more casinos (including local casinos) would would have them. One table, win or lose, that's it. I like it.

    I'm there for the $200

    Note from Administrator: This post contains information that was my mistake in the above post, now corrected.
    The actual rake of the $250 entry fee event is $100.

    ------------------
    This is great. I will be there on 3/23 to try 'em out. The more UBT format the better as far as I'm concerned.

    I do also see that our questions about rake are now answered, although it brings up a question on the accuracy of this release:

    $500 entry tables pay $1900 first place and $950 second place=RAKE of $150
    $200 entry tables pay $950 and $450=RAKE of ZERO--$200 overlay (???!!!)
    $100 entry tables pay $360 and $180=RAKE of $60

    i.e. If this is correct, I think I'll be lining up continuously for the $200 game!

    Alas, it's probably a typo...

    Yikes! My mistake.
    When I pasted the press release into my post, the formatting of the payouts didn't appear correctly, so I retyped them myself.

    However, I accidentally changed the entry fee from $250 to $200.
    I've edited the post above to correct my mistake. Thanks for finding the discrepancy sabrejack.

    Why do I have this picture from "Rounders" in my head, where the "fish" sit down at the poker table with all of those pros sitting there. The question is.....will the "pros" take turns at the feast, or will they cannibalize each other?

    Venetion

    I'll be in Vegas for the Hilton "Dublin Down" bj tournament and will definitely
    try this,(on the 23rd)
    I have never played at a sit and go, or played the UBT format. This should be interesting. I assume that since this runs from 8:00 to 2:00 am there will be opportunity to play in a number of different rounds? Are reservations of any kind needed?
