On the UBT site tonight and suddenly I see a schedule of UBT Venetian for 11/24-26 posted on there. It says "Call your host or marketing at 866.255.8936 to save a spot at 'UBT.' "

Anybody know what is required to enter this? I assume it is in effect a high roller invitational (as in, guarantee that you'll gamble w/big money amount "x" and we'll "invite" you to play)? I've not called the number but anyone know the specifics on this? There is no buy-in info listed on the UBT site and no mention on the Venetian site.

    Thanks for any scoop anyone...

    A: Invitational

I'll answer myself in the interest of anyone who wants to know: Called today and you have to have been invited by The Venetian (i.e. highroller player's club member).

Here's hoping there won't be too many of these on the "tour" in the end (i.e. events where the only players will be the host casino's whale pets, UBT insiders, and a freeroll winner or two)!

    I could be wrong...

...but I think the next fully open tourney won't be until the Aruba stop in March.

Although the Barona event will have a few $500 tourneys that are open to anyone.

MAN. I am stupid and slow!

So what is it, we all, most of us, maybe only a few from this sight, who don't know any better, are playing for on the bet21 sites and UBT or Play with yourself BT for LA in Dec, 06?

I know from other posts, I'm not alone in running the gauntlet, the rollercoaster of winning a TEC to lose in the first round on Play with Yourself.

But, if your smart and lose within 20 minutes, you can get to 21 and do the same.

IS this year's LA event, that six from one and one from the other go to a CASINO, where ya can plop down ure money to play, or WHAT! Or do you get to go to the ready made sausage maker TV Stage, just because you "survived" the pain of qualifying? the flight, the entry, the tv show....all good....buta, buta, buta.....fuco. I dunna know.

    Still living on earth

Thanks for the info Ace. I saw that Barona and Aruba are set to be open so that's good.

Also wanted to say to no one in particular that I've seem some other talk about this issue elsewhere on here tonight, but you know, I am simply looking for playing opportunities. Pure and simple. I'm going to be at the LV Hilton event and saw the UBT stop on their site with dates right after that.

But you know, if the opportunity is there for me, great. If it is only available to others, then I'm sure those folks did something to deserve those opportunities (like making a name for themselves, the series).

Meaning: I do expect the world to keep functioning as it has for all time. Business ventures begin (UBT), they work to get established (CBS, Bet21, PlayUBT, Aruba, St. Kitts), take the opportunities they can (invitational requests by Venetian, Palms), roll with the punches (lawmakers, tech glitches) and then hopefully have some fun along the way (freerolls, good ratings, more player interest).

Pure and simple: I want to play when I can, and I hope the opportunities come up, but let's also be realistic--we do live on earth...

    Take it as it comes

Agree 100% with your entire post and the sentence I quoted above in particular. ;) Maybe I'll see you at the Hilton in another 10 days. GOOD LUCK to you there. :) That tournament is simple and straightforward to get into, and that's what I like! :D
