Viejas Casino is having a series of small tourneys in April - which started in March - they are billing them as 'freeroll' tourneys; meaning that you win a free entry to all tourneys with a suited bj in live table play.

$1,200 tourneys are Tuesday nights, April 8 and 15 and THursday nights April 10 and 17; and start at 6:30

$5,000 tourney is Saturday April 26; starts at 11 AM, registration 9-10;45.

if you don't 'freeroll' in with a suited bj, you can pay an entry fee of $15 for the $1,200 tourneys, and $50 for the $5,000.

    Hi Richard
Do you have any idea how much 1st place pays for the $5000 tournament?

no - I've played in their $50K tourneys a couple of times - but never their smaller ones - the $50K paid very deep - top 60 players - so first only paid maybe $7,500 - I got $500 for making a semi-final - don't know how they will handle the $5K - can't imagine they would pay very deep - also a history of chopping the $50K final tables - don't know if they would encourage that for the $5K

Viejas was getting over 200 players for their $5K - many comped in or with the suited bj entries - know they hit 280 in one tourney I was in - don't know how they will draw for small tourneys like these - but - I would worry these will turn out to be very negative ev for the players who pay - in Yuma we have a $5K tourney most months - and it can go negative ev - with a $25 buy-in and $15 rebuy - so - I don't find these tourneys very attractive - when Viejas can pull in so many players for a tourney - and they have the suited bj free entries - only need to draw 100 to turn the ev negative -

hope these tourneys aren't replacing their $50k ones

    follow up on Viejas

on the Tuesday nights that Viejas is offering $1,200 tourneys for $15 - Golden Acorn - just another 1/2 hour down the freeway - is offering $2,500 for $25/$15 - and they pulled less than 40 players for the one I played - ended up wildcarding 5 players to the final table -

    Viejas Payouts

I was there last weekend you all. Don't worry you all. Bi-Kemba is still here and alive and kicking in good old Pasadena,Ca. So, I leave here at 8:23a.m. and didn't arrive until 11:16a.m. Yes, it took that long at 80mph. I was on my way down to Chula Vista anyway because my brother lives there. On with the show people.

I called Viejas and they extended the $50.00 buy-in to 11:00a.m.(start time) and yes, they do get many people for that tourney. They have what you call flights and there maybe two or three groups per flight. Now, I did see like two people advancing per table. I have the layout of the payouts and the rules for the tournaments. Here goes. This is what's exactly on the sheet you all. Oh, by the way, there is another tournament upcoming this April. However, I would suggest the Pechanga one that's kicking off soon. Just check the calendar or call them. On last thing, Viejas is one of the most tucked casinos I've ever been to. I mean it's further east than Baron. Go figure. Nice to see you all. God bless and good luck on your tourny adventures. Let me know if you all have any questions.

    Viejas $5000 Tournament

    Hi Bi-Kemba
It is good to hear from you again. Thank you for the info on payouts for Viejas. I almost didn't ask about the payouts as I thought 1st place would probably pay around $2000. I was thinking about making the drive, but now I am not sure.
