First place pays you 50:1 on your entry fee. So, you're getting paid 50:1 on a 5:1 shot, and that doesn't consider the value of second or third place. In my own play, I ended up on the 5 side instead of the 1 side of the odds, blowing my $1000 on the first hand. I hope your luck is better.
