As we can all attest, this "humbling hobby" can grace us or disgust us with its vilotile twists and turns...this was not the case friday night @ the president casino (biloxi, ms.). Walt H. played as close a near perfect final round as possible. At least that was the concenses of Richard R., Ricky R., and myself as we made the long drive back to Nawlins. Walt's "precision" wagers early on gave him the lead @ around hand 10 (tourney consist of 25 hands). He wisely built his lead to over 1/2 max. bet (max. bet is 2000.00) & was in the "wonderful" position to maintain the "high" and "low" on the last hand. Ultimately he sits back on the last hand as his opposition scurries for second place. Great job Walt (first place in this tourney pays 2000.00). This was a very similar outcome to his semi-final round as i witnessed it from the seat to his "right". Unfortunatly, this tourney has "degressed" in attendance since July 2nd. Week's one & two were sold out, but week three (6 short) & week four (9 short) have the "bean counters" worried...ace's & faces to all.

Thanks for the compliments Loyd. It's always fun to do battle with players like you and Dannye.

I'm a little disappointed in the attendance as well. I hope they'll stick it out 'til the snowbirds come down. I've been talking to the Copa about a live money tourney (probably on Sun.), but if the Prez can't sell out, it could be short lived. If, and when, they have it, I'll post the details and hope many of the players here will come out.

    Good Job Walt! Congratulations!

I sure wish I could get down there for some practice against the "masters" in a weekly tournament! I will be posting a couple of questions about my experience at two weekly tournaments in Kansas City this past weekend. GF
