Update? Did anyone make the tournament this past weekend? Can you provide an update on what this is all about? Do you win a seat into the month end tournament or is that going to be a separate event? I plan to try to get there this coming weekend. Pat
When I was at the Grand for their tournament a month or so ago I inquired about these weeklies. I was told that the winners from the weeklies will compete at the end of March for a seat at Caesars Palace LV. Did not inquire how many from each weekly will be invited to the end of March playoff since I live too far away to play in a weekly.
Information updated on schedule Where was everyone for this tournament? Last week they had only 10 players show up. Since they only needed seven players to play, the went ahead and played and seven of ten won money and a seat into the final tournament on 3/31. Unfortunately I wasn't there to play last week, but I was there this week. We had six tables (around 40 players) so two advanced from first round play from each table. Second round (semifinals) was only two tables of six players each with 3 advancing from each table to finals. They had one wild card draw, and only about 10 eligible people showed up (out of 32). No luck for me, got beat by ploppies on my first round table with dealer busting about every hand and even with the good odds for a wild card, no luck there either. Any of you locals in Tunica need to be there for this one! Most of the players were first time tournament players and some just seemed to be there that day and stumbled into the tournament rather than coming specifically to play. It would not surprise me if some of the final table winners don't even make it back on the 31st to play. There is virtually no advertising in the casino about this tournament, but I imagine it will be closer to filling up in the final two weeks. Hope to see you there next week! Pat
Arizona Qualifier At Harrah's in Arizona since Jan 30 they were having twice weekly qualifiers for the MillionaireMaker. Each qualifier was limited to 30 players with 6 tables with 5 players per table. One winner advances from each table to the final table of 6 players. The winner of the final table advances to their tournament of champions where they send one (or more?) to Ceasars. It took me 3 tries to win the 1st round and was amased that I won that final table. The entry was $20. 1st $270, 2nd ~ $150, 3rd ~ $70. There might still be 2 qualifiers left: Tue morrning Mar 13 and Thur night Mar 15. Tournament of champions is Monday Mar 19. The pit boss said that they might hold other qualifiers over the next few months for another tournament of champions. They talked about hopeing to send several players to Ceasars. ........................BlueLight
