Just curious - the "jewelry" seemed to get more airtime than the money. Believe Ken Smith said his winnings in round 1 were $50K but Dave M., Ken E., 2&3rd place finishers? Inquiring minds want to know.:laugh:
Dave Matthews got $250K in the championship. I don't remember what 2nd place paid, but it was probably either $100K or $125K. I finished 5th at the champions table and got $25,000. Each of the preliminary tournaments paid $50K for first, and I think $25K for second. Each event paid 7 places. The total prize money for the first season was either 1.2M or 1.4M.
Great payouts. I don't understand why they always avoid mentioning the payouts in the show. It gives the impression that it's a fake tournament.
