Who would make the most money? A card-counting player of regular blackjack or a tournament blackjack player, assuming they both are equivalent experts in their respective disciplines and can spend the same amount of time playing? Cheers Reachy
Good Question Mr Reachy this is an excellent question but one that can not really be compared . You see you can win as much as 500,000 winning tournaments with a very low strain on your bankroll you could win 100,000 with as little as a 350 dollar entry fee In order to win 100,000 at a blackjack table you would have had to risk a number much larger than 350 dollars. So the best way to answer your question would be that a skilled tournament player (PRO) will have the opportunity to win more money than the live play of a skilled blackjack player (PRO) But the live table player will have many more winning sessions . There are a few who have mastered both fields and they are pretty well known among the peering eyes of the casino personnel and tournament directors. Especially here in Las Vegas Joep2
I would think, obviously, that the ROR that comes along with being an advantage player is the biggest detrement when comparing one's self to a tournament player. But to answer the question, it all depends on bankroll. The higher the bankroll, the higher the EV, the more money there is to be made for an advantage player over time. Short answer, advantage player can make more counting if they have Bill Gates' bankroll. Tourney players can make more with realistic bankrolls used for entry fees.
OK. To turn the question around a bit how much bankroll would a tournament player need relative to a regular BJ player to achieve similar returns (assuming equal skill level)? What would the RoR be for each scenario? Is it possible to answer these questions? Am I barking up the wrong tree? Cheers Reachy
