Why no tourneys in AC?

Would seem like with the collection of casinos there there might be an occasional open tourney. And there must be at least a few East Coast players on this board. So is it against the law in New Jersey or is just the lack of interest among Harrah execs and The Donald?

    Mostly Invite Tournaments

Back in the late 80's when Duke Rolfs company IGP ran tournaments for casinos there were a couple that were held in Atlantic City some at Resorts and some at the Showboat.Once IGP went out of business the Atlantic City Tournament scene turned into Invite only events.I believe to this day there are tournaments that are still held there but the amount has decreased and they still remain invite only.Last year Harrahs was running a tournament on a weekly basic but due to lack of participation it was canceled. It's prize money return did not make it a good return for the players and the players stayed away.
