At this point WSOB is the best thing for BJT. It involves many more "regular guy" players. The demand is in the regular guy.
WSOB vs. UBT? Barney I'm not sure what your statement means, can you give some detail including your WSOB tournament history. I have played 5 WSOB qualifing tournaments the past 2 years and unfortunately have spent about about $2,500 without getting a ticket to the "Big Dance". I personally am looking forward to a stateside UBT event where $2,700 will get me in the door.
I , simply, mean the game is available to a great deal of players in USA. It is at least offering affordable ( i think they are affordable) games in various regions of USA and the various is important. I read Paul Haas has competed against something like 300 players at one casino. Thrash and Stormy have played a few games in Washington and Stormy has done well. If you have paid into games $2500 have you won any money? What was the buy in for each game? I wanted to make it to Wa state to play but things didnt work out so I have no WSOB experience.
Wsob 2007 Here in Oklahoma at the Durant casinos Easttexaspro qualified to the Dec 16 tournament for a WSOB seat. Only $60 entry. TX has also tried it there.
Even cheaper... Up at the Durant property (if you ask) they give you a $30 discount card on your first entry. They also allow you to sign up for all six rounds (as long as you pay for all rounds in advance). This is nice if your in from out of town and if you do win your round and additional rounds you can sell to get your money back.
