Tomorrows episode will have Orel Hershiser as the celebrity guest. Have a read of his accomplishments which place him on the list of best pitchers ever. On top of that he is well known to be a fantastic person off the field.

    Rick and Philip

It just seems as if these episodes have been so predictable to me. I play really like Oral somewhat. Meaning, the amounts of bets that he puts out. You have to know and realize that these are hands being played and the knockout card could out at any given time. Now, as far as the episode is concerned. Rick and Philip did one stupid bet and they were the same: They didn't use the Burger King Power Chip at the right time. For instance, Philip could've replaced that seven I think with that Ten that the guy received next to Oral. He would've had a blackjack. He thought about it too long. Just do it. Don't hesitate and think about that. It just seems as if I could've written a book by the time they finished thinking about what they were going to do. I'm a no-nonsense person and I get bored really, really, really fast. So, when I'm waiting for that person to the left or right of me to make that play you will see on my face of frustration I am having with someone who wants to take that next puff of a cigarrette or take a sip of that cognac. Just play. I loved last night's show overall though. I will watch the last hand tonight.

By the way, there is one problem I am having with this year. The time slot is horrible. I wonder what the ratings are because it comes on at 11:00p.m. Pacific Coast Standard Time. Most working class adults are in bed that I know and it is so frustrating to watch a show that late. I would rather watch the depressing news versus this at 11:00p.m. I wish GSN had a better time slop. Do something about it GSN. It's stupid and sucks. God bless you all and good luck on every hand you all play.

I think it's pretty obvious that GSN has at least one better timeslot...they precede it with, what, three High Stakes Poker reruns?

Was anybody else as irritated as I was with GSN's taking up an additional 1/8 of the screen with the graphic from that ridiculous texting game?

Yeah, the big chunk of screen taken up by that game was pretty annoying.

In my opinion, last night's show suffered from a lack of exciting hands. Not much can be done about that I guess. We finally get to a final hand where Orel can come from behind to win it, and the dealer gets a blackjack, stealing all the fun out of that hand.

Oh yeah, congrats to Salomon for taking this one!

I thought Rick played well - he just got a string of very bad hand results -

has anyone noticed that so far:

we have had a 'drunk-all-in-guy'; a 'clueless-cute-girl'; one skilled player at each table; one sort of ok player at each table; and: that the most skillful player has finished second each time!

should be some good play at the wildcard tables

Well TXT'ing is the rage and the new cash cow.

Did you want that card. Did you want to bet that amount. Oh, please play along. Jeez, you're couped up in your cave and haven't seen daylight in eons so come on along and play wit me. Interactive is better than real. Don't matter there was no real explanation of what to do, how to do it, or what you got. JUST DO IT. Cause it's YBNBF Jill!

    Last nights WSOB

Last night I thought we had a good table, no really bad players, I though everyone had a clue to what they needed to do.

Now I was pleasantly surprized when Phillip went from last to first putting me in last place, only to come back on his next bet that moved him right back into last again. It saved my butt...LOL

I thought Mikki play very well, she knew she was going to have to make a move early to try and get a lead, unfortunately she never caught the cards. The entire round she only won three hands, they were the 1st, half of the split/DD hand, and her last hand when she hit the 17 and caught the 3 for 20. I mean that was it, TOTAL, not just what was shown last night.

Mikki is a good player and she kick a lot of very good players butts in the $2,500 entry event to win her seat. She also a sweetheart, anybody that knows her loves her to death, (even thought she's a lawyer), if she reads this she may kick my butt...LOL

None of us knew about all the misfortune that Phillip had been through, (hell when I heard about everything last night and I was wanting him to win).

Saloman was a very nice man and had us rolling with his monkey sounds. And Orel was cool, we talked for a while in the green room and when he made a comment about a surrender trap on another show before our filming, I just looked at him and said "Your our celebrity, your not suppose to know those type's of things"!

Orel was by far one of the best celebrity players I have seen, his "NO" double downs on certain hands really impressed me and he was very out going throughout the entire WSOB (just not on camera).

I was very impress with how well everybody at our table got along, we all talked to each other, either congratulating one other or with good natured ribbing, throughout the match.

And they did cut Orel's chip slide, you can see him and Saloman do it once in the last few hands and Orel is just starting to slide his over to my stack just before they cut for a commercial on the last hand.

It was a rough table, Jessica was a doll, but was killing us. I was in last place and lost the last 5 hands before the 2nd knockout and still advanced having several of my 19's and 20's beat by Jessica (you only saw about 3 of those), now you know why I made the comment about her beating my 20's. I caught the cards, she just caught better.

My last ten hand's I go 1-win, 7-losses, and 2-pushes and still pulled out 2nd place. Saloman did even better, he goes 0-win's, 9-losses, and 1-push and won the table.

Out of the final three players for the final 5 hands, we only won 3 hands out of the combined 15.

O'well, at least I'm alive for another show.

Bi-Kemba I assume you think I should have not used my power chip when I did? My reasoning was I had a bet that had I won would have put me in first place with one hand to go. I had a 3/6 vs the dealers 2, if I would have caught a 10 for 19 that is a winning hand (or should be). I felt re-hitting the 9 was the better play in my opinon. I still haven't second guessed my use of the power chip in that situation.

Now once I hit and drew the 4, had I hit again and busted then I would be in the same situation except I couldn't hit and take a chance of busting or any chance I may have had would be over.

Funny thing is even if I had, just hit hit my 13 and caught the 8 for 21, the way the cards played out that followed, Jessica would have draw a 21 also, so either way I would have push that hand.

On my last hand I had a few players ask me why I bet what I did. I was up on Orel by $8,000 and down to Saloman by $8,750. By betting $14,500 I could beat Saloman with a win and his push or loss while being able to surrender back to cut Orel if I had too.

The insurance bet was a no brianer, with what Orel bet I could afford it and had I not taken it and he did, I would have been the odd man out.

What was bad was Saloman under bet his hand, at $5, 000 had all of us had won, he would have been 3rd. And whats worst is if he would have at least matched my bet and not taken insurance I could have past him on Jessica's blackjack.

For being so far down and only winning one of the last 5 hands, I am more then happy to have advanced from that table.

my comments were directed at all the shows so far - not just yours Rick - I thought Mikki was the second best player at your table - and better than 'semi-skilled', she played well - just got very bad hands - - and you were right - Orel played surprizingly well for a 'celebrity' player - I was impressed - and I liked your bets - just not your cards  - but overall - it has seemed as if every show has one very good player - one good/ok player - and the best player comes in second -

I have seen people slide stacks over to compare - more than a few times - a breach of manners, at least - though I have never complained or blocked them - as long as they don't touch my chips -

Rick - yours was the best table of the first four as far as overall play - no one really bad - two players quite good - some mistakes - and some players got bad cards - and everyone there seemed to have fun and enjoy the play

    I need to watch again

But it seemed last night the two KOs should have gone all in on their 2nd to last hand. Their final hands had very low expectancy rate. Maybe some chips wasted.

I thought Orel played very well altho Im very biased. He gave me a lot of great memories as number 55.

The players had good chemistry which made it enjoyable as well.

Lets call it how it is, Tex was by far the best at that table. :D

    Thanks, but

Thanks for the kind words, but lets really be fair and say it came down to who was the luckest when it counted.

I didn't realize that was you. Nice job on going 2nd place. Hopefully, one of these days I will have the opportunity to meet you. As I stated earlier, I am in my second tournament on July 3, 2007 at Agua Caliente Casino out in the Palm Springs area. I would like to get to the final table. The first six places cash and that would be nice. About $3000.00 goes to the winner. Not bad for $50.00 buy-in. Lastly, at least you would have pushed that hand instead of losing it. I would rather push a dealer versus losing anything at all. I think it makes sense. I could be wrong though.

    Great game for hindsight

I did push that hand, it was the next to the last hand and I was dealt a 6/3 vs the dealers 2. I just hit and caught a 4, this is when I used my power chip to change the 4 and in return caught the 8 for 17.

Now had I just hit the 13 and not used my power chip I would have made a 21, but as I posted before, Jessica would have pulled a 21 as well, so either way I would have pushed.

What is funny, if you change the out come and follow the cards for the last hand (had I hit the 13 the hand before) I would have hit a blackjack on the final hand and Jessica would have had an ace up anyway, however we will never know what her next card would have been.

It is easy to look back and 2nd guess what we did, but if we win all is great and if we lose we just go back and try it again.

So Bi-Kemba, if I get a TBJPA event scheduled for the Pacific coast area will you come play?

What you are telling me is the reason you have made so many final tables this year is all about luck! I shouldnt be happy I dont have to face you in TBJPA events? :joker:

    Wow...

I would love to be there TXtourplayer. All of you members here are awesome. I have learned so much from you guys. Of course, if the price is right as well. LOL...I am on a budge TXtourplayer. I mentioned to my wife the other day about Laughlin. You sent me an email. However, I was a little confused about the type of tournament. There are several in Laughlin that week. Which one? Can you send me the link. I will send you my email address in response to your private message. Thanks for the correction. I remember that hand. You would've hit seven. That would've gave you a 21. You have to go with your gut feeling though. I have to say I love tournament style blackjack. After being in so many online tournaments and the one cruise tournament I was in reassured me I can play with the big boys.
