All, I'm very concerned that the WSOB qualifier rules are different than the actual WSOB rules (finals-television). I personally cannot stand playing accumulation tourneys. With this said, can anyone share with my the actual "qualifier" rules. Thanks, Sidekick
WSOB & House rules Sidekick unfortunately the casinos can run the qualifiers however they want so the rules may (and probally will) vary from qualifying location to the next. I agree that a set format of rules and regulations for each casino wishing to host a qualifier would have been great idea, but when you spend $50,000 for a seat I guess they can run them however and for whoever they want. It might just hurt the players that make the show and don't know about surrender and other little things that could make a big difference in winning and losing.
Agreed and ... If I owned a Casino and was trying to find the best BJ player to represent my casino, I rather run with WSOB rules versus this accumulation format which completely sucks and is not based on skills like chip counting, surrender, even card counting (maybe). Sidekick
You will learn...LOL Sidekick this isn't even close to the worst thing the casinos do. If you hang around long enough you'll see some of the stupidest things the casino marketing departments will do.
Craziest rule ever Ok, if you want to talk about crazy rules here is how UTE mountain is determining who advances if they have more tables than slots for the final round. Normal rules are 2 per table advance to next round. Final table has seven spots, six from tables and one wild card. Well this weekend they had four semifinal tables so we were all wondering how they were going to take 2 from each table which would equal 8 for only six seats. Well their rules were that only 4 first place finishers would advance, the other two slots would be from high card draw from second place finishers. That's right, if you come in second on semifinal table you and another second place finisher each draw one card out of the deck and the high card advances. About as good as a coin flip. Lucky me gets swung on final hand on my semifinal table (I was BR1 on last hand, but no max bet limit) so I finish second instead of first, then draw a five on the high card and get eliminated. Talk about insult to injury!!! And to top it off, the semifinalists are not included in the wild card draw! The wild card is drawn just before the semifinals begin! But we created a legend at the live tables. Get someone to tell you how we all walked away with big wins on a streak BJ table where the max bet is five dollars a hand. Biggest winner walked with $900 profit! The pit boss even came in and dealt. I think they were convinced we were cheating somehow, but all we did was hit a real lucky streak! Pat
