Being newish to the WSOB I am confused about one of the rules and I was hoping someone could help me out. On the official GSN site there is a rule called "Second Chance". This rule says there is a draw that invites one player back into the game. When is this suppoed to happen? or is this another mistake/poor wording on the website?

Any help on understanding this would be great. I haven't seen this used yet, but I've only seen a few shows.

As you know from watching, the second place finisher from each round one table goes to a "Wild-Card round".

With 8 tables in round one, that qualifies 8 players for the Wild Card round. There are two wild-card tables, and with five players on each, we have two extra seats to fill. Those seats were filled by the "Second Chance" drawing.

If you finished in fifth place in round one, you received one drawing ticket. If you finished in fourth place, you got two tickets. If you finished in third place, you got three tickets. Just before the wild card rounds were played, two players were drawn to fill the seats.

    Thanks Ken,

I was wondering if they were using the rule or not as I had heard no mention of the rule when they mention the KO and the Powerchip rules in the coverage.

Thanks for clearing up the second chance rule.

    Drawing?

On the TV program, I don't remember them saying anything about a "drawing" unless, of course, I was sleeping.:D Does anyone recollect hearing this on TV?

Don't remember the show but I do remember the announcers talking that someone still had a chance to get in the Wild Card even though they were one of the KO.

I must of been sleeping too. I guess the only ones who knew about the second chance drawing were the ones at the taping.

Not like stated rules in those devious land based casinos which list there will or won't be "wild cards" And...Oh well never mind, that goes to another thread and best left unsaid.

Whoa, thanks for the info on that, KenSmith. For some reason, I was under the impression that the Second Chance drawing was only for players that finished in third place in the original qualifying matches. Thanks for setting me straight on that.
