Tournament "postponed" - Majestic Star Casino

As of 8/23/06 this tournament is postponed 
indefinitely "due to circumstances beyond our control". 
Best guess is that attendence registration was poor, but 
that's just a guess.

No max bet limit.
Entry fee includes room for two nights, welcome reception 
on Friday, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and awards 
banquet on Sunday evening.

8/13/06 update:
Super Star Lounge pass for the 3 days.
If entry fee paid after Aug. 23, rooms cannot be 
guaranteed but a credit for 2 nighs will be given (valid 
for 60 days).
Fri. 8/25 - Welcome reception & table assignment at 6pm.

The tournament play is on Sat. & Sun. You play either Sat. 
or Sunday in a 3 round elimination event. Each day's event 
has the following rules:
* Check-in starts at 9:00am
* Round 1 (session 1) begins at 10:00am
* 3rd session of round 1 is the re-buy session for $99.
* 1 wild card will be drawn for the final round.
* Final round (round 3) players will play for seats in the 
CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND on Sunday.

The CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND will be played on Sunday at 1:00pm. 
In addition, one wild card will be drawn for the 
CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND.

Their write-up is not very detailed but it looks like 3 
players from Sat. and 3 players from Sun. will go to the 
Championship Round plus 1 wild card. Bu that's just a 
guess.

Three employees told me that only in person sign-up is 
permitted. No reservations are being made by telephone 
although cash or credit card is accepted for payment.

AS A SIDE NOTE:
They are only allowing 1/2 hour for each session. This is 
the way they allocated their time last year with 
disaterious results. Evereone was confused as to their 
playing time. Looks like the have not learned from 
experience.

Total players is unknown. My best guess is 150-300. Sorry, 
can't be more specific.

Prize distribution is not known. However, they do say 
$1,500 is the minimum.
