    Just back from Pechanga

The best thing about going was meeting Elyssez. The rule is only splitting matching 10s, like QQ 1010 KK etc. Not a good rule but a rule at this casino.

Maybe best play is to buy in 2500$ at BIG one. You are stuck in an odds tumble of 1/6 or 1/7 for three games. "Hot Seat" betting high wins. I was in one hot seat during first of my two and warm seat in second. If I were betting above min, low bet is 25 high is 1000, I would have won first table no prob. I had a hard double that lost it for me and Elyssez couldnt split her QK on last hand. Important, IMO, we were both there to win at end. Second round one guy was flaming, and I dont mean he likes guys. I busted second to last hand and Elyssez got another infamous unlike 20....

I took off and thats all I know...

Okay, now I'm back from this tourney. After rebuying several times to no avail, I managed to clear $1175 at the live tables. Which since there were only 41 people total in the tourney, 1st prize turned out to be $1100, so I actually made more then the winner. I'm pretty happy with my result!

As far as this tourney goes, if it's not too far for you, I say try it, even if the "numbers" don't look good. If not, consider buying directly into the Million$ event in January. 1st prize is $500,000 guaranteed. There will be drawings for other prizes, including a car. And there's a good possibility it will be televised. The possibilities are there if you choose!

PS Thank you Barney, it was a pleasure meeting you as well.

    more info?

a couple of additional questions for those who have played in the qualifier -

    1. what is the rebuy cost?

    2. when do they start registration for each tournament?

    3. since there were evidently only a few players at the tournament - what format did they use? Two advance? three advance? how many at each table?

    Rkuzcek-

    In answer to your questions:
-The rebuy is $120, the same as the initial buy-in.
-Registration is located at the box office, and starts 1 hour before round 1 begins.
-Only 1 per table advance, so rebuy tables makeup the rest of the seats at the final table.
