Marichal Unfortunately fgk did play and plopped out. But Marichal moves into semi finals! Go team Leah/Marichal!
25000 Bet21--finals Thx Barney. As you see, Marichal took 6th. Lots of work, good competition. What was cool was to see 4 of the former global wed tourn players in the semi--walt h, jimmy h, marichal, & rookie. What good training we all had. Congrats to jimmy on 5th place. I hope that they do it again.
Congrats Congrats to Marichal and Jimmy H. on your final table appearances. It was a tough dealer throughout the whole final. Congrats also to Walt and Rookie for making the semi-finals and winning some cash.
Way to go guys! Nice going guy's, Congratulations on your final table tonight. Hope to see both of you in Tulsa next month.
Hey, no words about the winner? Great tournament everyone! Since we went over the guarantee, the first place payout ended up at $8700!
Congrats Toonces I watched your final table. Great game. You're from Gurnee? I'm only about fifteen minutes away.
Yes, I am. I play poker in Milwaukee often...sadly no EBJ up here. So, if you're so close, did you hear me scream out when i went over 2x my opp with 1 hand to go?
$25,000 Bet 21 Thanks Leilahay and Thrast, It was a tough battle as always to make a cash table with such a good field of players as tonight and my sincere congratulations go out to Marichal and Jimmy H for making the final table from a field of approimately 150, great play guys. Barney, on a side note, how can you have a contranian view about the 5.50 bet21 games vs. the Palms? The bet21 5.50 satellite entry $25,000 tournament also payed 6 places to the final table in addition to $300 to all semi-finalists that didn't advance to the final table. Your condeming posts appear to me as conclusions (opinions) made without complete information and just a gut feeling based on limited knowledge/facts.
Finally Well the 25,000 event is over and look at the results: 3 of the 6 final table are members here at BJT.com Now maybe it's coincidence but I would like to believe that there is some value here at the BJT.com community. Congratulations Toonces for the win Also to ALL the people who played a big thank you. Why? Maybe, just maybe this will show the people out there, who make decisions about tourneys that if they host it, we (BJ community) will come. The WSOB satellites - sold out quicker than expected The 25,000 event had 141 entries, exceeding their (well at least my) expectations so that the prize pool was actually GREATER than 25,000. 28,200 to be exact! So maybe this could be a quarterly or semi-annual event? Also of Note: BJT.com members at the final table - 3 Team UBT members at the final table - 0 Just recall all the hubbub about Team UBT selection back in August? In light of recent events in the BJ community I feel like last night's participation in the tourney was a bright shining star and the only thing that would have made me prouder would have been if I had actually been there myself - but there's always a next time - at least I hope so!
thank you for your kinds words. it was a pleasure to compete at the final table, as well as being a great overall experience. congrats to tooncestdc, wish i could have given the winner a a better game. standing on a five card sixteen and seeing the next card being a four at the end of the hand was my downfall. still was a great tourney. just hoping that bet21 can somehow survive so that we may all participate in the future. thanks once again and best luck to all
Unmitigated success!!! Was out second in the first round, but I want to congtratulate the winner, Toonces, the runners up (especially Fax it, Jimmy H, Edithorr and Marichal) and semi-finalists that I regularly meet in the games I play at Bet21) and all the members of this site who participated in the unmitagated success that was last night tournament. Imagine...141 entries!!! We more than doubled up the number of entries we had the day before. It proves one thing to me. The launching of EBJ has finally proven successfull and, I believe, we are on are way to the moon if we sail smoothly. One thing for sure, the next major tournament will even be more successful than the first one. Congratulations also to the promoters, organizers and owners of this fine blackjack tournament site for making a success of last night event.
UB made money on this one - that is what we need if we want to see more of these - the qualifiers brought inb a lot of players - like me - who normally wouldn't put out $200+$15 for a online tourney - but would put out the $5+$0.50 for a shot at an entry and the fun of playing the qualifiers - and the final turn out showed that this model works - maybe UB/Bet21 will offer this type of tourney every quarter or even every couple of months, now that they know it works and they made 7.5% of the prize pool - nice profit for them - nice tourney for us
Wow...When it rains, it pours...a day after winning the $25,000 Guarantee tournament for $8,700, I won tonight's $5,000 Guarantee tournament for another $1,750! What's a guy got to do around here to get some sponsorship? P.S. You're absolutely right, RK, this had to have been a big hit for Bet21. They made about $2100 in fees for the tournament alone, let alone what they made on the qualifiers. It also showed that if they throw a big game at us, a lot of people will take a shot at it. Here's hoping it becomes a monthly event.
toonces with your winnings lately - shouldn't you be the one doing the sponsoring??? rather than looking for a sponsor???? I'm available
Very nice tournament.. Unfortunatly I wasnt able to deposit so I was left on the sidelines watching but it was fun show... I was surprized to see some of the mighty fall very early in round 1... I played many of the satts and got as close as 2nd place a couple of times...oh well... Its hard to say exactly how they faired what with the satts being lowered for number required and then raised for entry fee at the end. The calculation of #of players X entry fees would be incorrect as some satts went off with only 12 players and thus left a defecit to be made up... Hopefully they did well enough to be encourged by the result....I doubt that they made much money but it is a start and it will get better...if the funding issues are overcome. This event and far bigger is held every Sunday for Poker....it could easily become a weekly event for Black Jack.... Im seeing new names ...its growing...slow to be sure but thats to be expected with the recent intrusion by our nosey Uncle.... Congrats to the winners....good games all.
