Sorry guys, my attempt at posting with my phone yesterday failed. My excuse is, being tired after the close to 700 mile drive home.
Anyway Moses, it was great to see you, also (along with Pitch Man, delta duke and many other old and new acquaintences).
And George, I fully agree that luck is a HUGE factor. Always is, thus the old saying "rather be lucky than good"!!!

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you guys that made the trek for our tournament. We had a great time and you guys were terrific. My staff raved about how nice everyone was. We will be hosting one in October and as soon as I get the dates set I will post to this site first! I should I will have them by the end of the week. I got a lot of great suggestions and will making some minor changes in the format such as 2 advance from each table but it will stay a double deck tournament.

Just posted the dates of our Fall tournament! We made a few changes based on player feedback, but it is still a $25,000 prize pool with all-cash. We really had a great time in July and hope to see you again in October!

New format is still win your table, but we are reducing the number of rounds from 7 to 6 so that the two chip leaders will advance into the quarter-finals. We increased the number of hands to 20 for the preliminary rounds, quarter-final round, and semi final round. The final round will have 25 hands. There will be Wild Cards into the quarter-final rounds, three players per table will advance into the Semi-Final round. NO Wild Cards for the semi-final and only 6 per table. The top chip leader from each table will advance into the Final - Round plus 1 Wild Card drawing for the 7th seat.

After the success of our first tournament, I got the okay to move the tournament into our Showplace! Since we have the Showplace for those two days, we will be offering a continental breakfast during registration, dinner Saturday in the Showplace and lunch Sunday afternoon. We will still take early registration on StubWire (NO FEE to register online) or on property. Cindy, you are a bit far away for me to make it to your event, but I just wanted to applaud you again for being proactive with the community both in promoting and in seeking to improve your event. I wish that other tournament directors would take your approach (*sneeze*kewadin*sneeze*)

 

I think you meant to say "other" tournament directors. If so, I'm in full agreement with you. Cindy does a GREAT job!

Thank you so much! The table games community is a very social group, especially the tournament players! I don't know why other tournament director don't get more involved. It makes for a much better experience not only for the players, but for the staff as well!

 

How many entered the tournament in July? Just curious if it sold out?
Any info appreciated.

 

Don't quote me on this, but I think I heard there were 81,83 or 89 players... somewhere in there, with approx 140 or so buy/re-buys. But, this was the first of these tournaments that Cindy has put on and from the chatter about the October event, I think it will grow this time. It's a very good tournament. Very nice tables, VP, rooms, food, and friendly folks everywhere.

 

Thank you for the information Pitchman. Yes I live about an hour away and this is the local Casino we play at. Tournament in July did not work out for me as we had commitments but I will be there for this one. Hope to meet you and the others from this site. Take Care.

 

Pitchman's numbers are right on the money. I changed the format for this tournament to allow 2 players from each table to advance so it cut down the maximum participants to 252 from 294. We have a lot of interest going on with this one, so I expect the turnout to be much higher. Regardless, the $25k cash prize pool is guaranteed.
