Aruba qualifiers - bummer

I believe its all St Kitts now, you're right about that... the events start up this weekend (both poker & blackjack) in Aruba, so time is probably too short. i think from a business perspective, Bet21 just realized that with an official software launch date mere days before the September 16th UBT show on CBS (with the Bet21 commercials), it just wouldn't make sense to heavily promote Aruba like UB has since a week later, it'd be too late. Makes sense that they just shot for the moon with St Kitts, and all future tour stops.

I agree, it woulda been nice to see more info on Aruba, but honestly -- who can blame them for having things take longer than they anticipated to launch everything? i think we'd all been grumbling a lot MORE if they launched a month earlier, promoted Aruba, and then had much more serious issues with the site. At least this way, the problems are slight & getting better day by day.

Nothing to cry about, Tex. With all the pressure surrounding the launch of the new software & the press surrounding the CBS television show, not to mention having to plan multiple UBT 2nd season Tour stops at once (not only St Kitts & Aruba, but closing deals with the majority of other UBT charter casinos), its an understatement to say that those involved with making this all happen were a LITTLE swamped. I know for a fact that the entire production team working on these monster multi-media projects has gotten an average of 3 hours a sleep a night for the past several weeks, in anticipation of the official September 16th launch.

I don't see a problem here.

First I am not sure why I was address over this issue, I was about the 5th or 6th person to reply to the free roll post, but since you did I will address the issue.

Dave you are kidding correct? With over a year to get ready and everybody on this site, Kennye site, and LVA site asking when and where the Aruba free roll would be held and all the players who signed up for the UBT updates and this happens? You are kidding I hope.

Dave they did drop the ball on this and that is all we are saying, we are still going to play UBT but I hope by us pointing out this oversight that it won't happen again

The problem was all of us signed up for UBT and have been waiting so long for this free roll missed out on a possible all expense paid trip to Aruba and $25,000 + for making the final table along with being on TV.

I am not asking you to give up you seat in Aruba, but I bet if someone did you would see a problem with that!

The fact is, thousands of people were still able to take advantage of Bet21 & PlayUBT freerolls for Aruba,

Thousands? Wasn't it under 150 for each of them? Now they are getting over a thousand for the St. Kitts free roll qualifiers.

Dave come on, they had over a year to promote it! They had time to make TV commercails and magizine ad's and they could have told Kennye and Joep so they could annouce it on their radio show or told Ken Smith so he could have posted it on this site?

Yes, you are correct and I for one am playing and supporting the sites and hope I win one of the qualifiers. However the the deal is that we lost the chance to play for the Aruba trip we have been waiting for so long, so yes we do have a reason to be up set.

You really wanna tear down all the incredible opportunities now available to all of us in the blackjack tournament community because of a few software bugs & last minute freerolls? Shit happens, Tex, but i think its overwhelmingly obvious that the UBT and Bet21 are both incredible wins for our community.

Dave, not me or anybody esle is trying to tear down UBT and I agree that this should be GREAT for Blackjack tournaments, but you are getting on to us about having concerns and issues over problems. Yes these issue will be or should be resloved, but you shouldn't be getting on to us for pointing them out. Problems cannot be fixed if they are not pointed out.

So, sorry you didn't get a chance to play a freeroll. Please come back for all of the future events that are now available, heavily advertised, and free for anyone to play. And maybe the % of your posts here about the UBT and Bet21 that do nothing but trash them can go from 100% down to only 70% or so...

Once again pointing out problems I don't feel is trash talking, I think all three sites need our imput to correct any and all problems. I have done the same for Global-Player. If I was trashing UBT I wouldn't be trying so hard to find a sponsor so I could go play in all of their events.

I am excited about UBT and wish them nothing but success along with all the other new online site for blackjack tournaments. For every successful tournament we have we can gain more and more players and hopefully a simular success that poker currently is enjoying.
