    Still going

Well, we're down to 32. I made it in at 8th place (Tony D), this round. How are other people from this site doing?

    Several BJT folks still in

A quick look at the list yields me, Walt and gflan in addition to TheKid.
I expect there are others in that list as well.
    Good luck tomorrow!

    I'm in as well

    CHRISTIAN H.

And as I don't know anything about college basketball, I simply have to survive the next round as well. :)

    Nice ending!

Wow! That had my heart skip a beat!!! I played earlier today while most people were probably still working and put up a decent score. When I checked at about 10 pm, though, I had been surpassed. So, I ponied up another fifty buck and played thirty or thirty-five hands out and was about $300 above 16th. Stupid me... I didn't settle for that and made another medium size bet... when I lost it, I played a negative progression and lost SIX hands in a row, bringing me back down to $500! (Insert self-hatred here) I luckily struggled my way back up to $2300 with one hand left to go. Then I sat and waited to see where 16th was sitting. At the last minute, it went from $2250 to $2300 - exactly what I had. "Great" I thought. Since I had to win my last hand regardless of the amount, I made a max bet. I was dealt T-2 against a 7 upcard. I drew an 8 (thank goodness), and the dealer went 7-6-6. I squeaked by, and my $3300 should put me in the top 5 I thought. I've got to admit... I was sweating it!

Ken, how did you get that list so damn fast? It was only 11:02 when I started writing this!

    close call

Phew, that got really close for me in the end.

However, I solved my basketball problem... :)

I wonder how many rebuys were necessary so far. I had 1.

That's squeaking in there, Kid. Good thing you won the last hand!

I ended up re-entering several times today, and still had to sweat out the last few minutes to advance by $202.50. This is fun, but it's a dangerous format!

    To Much Smoke

Was that why we didn't see you very long on TV? Was it because there was to much smoke left over from my match ? If thats what they call smoked I will take that everytime a 20 vs dealers up card of 3. Tell me Swog how BIG of a favorite was I.That sitution I will take 7 days a week and twice on Sundays. ;)

    Joe's blow

about 88%....or 76% if a push would do you in also.....shit happens

Was the S In The Wrong Spot

If I push I would advance also as Hollywood would have lost his bet and Kevin Didn't bet enough to pass me.So how is my Favorite % lower on the push? In another point did you put the S in the wrong spot was it suppose to be behind BLOW as opposed to be behind JOE ,Or was I suppose to read between the lines

    Final eight

    1. Kenneth r S. $5,997.50
    2. Walt H. $5,995.00
    3. Dave K. $5,525.00
    4. Charlie C. $5,465.00
    5. Bianca W. $5,415.00
    6. Gayle F. $5,175.00
    7. Christian H. $5,172.50
    8. Michael F. $5,150.00

Looks like this is getting a bjtournaments.com internal affair.

This time, I needed 5 rebuys. The guys at betcom.com must be making real $$$ with this format. (However, that's ok with me, as long as they return me the $5000 1st prize:))

    Congrats to Selecticom!

I made my run at it last night and lost 5 straight max bets (two dealer 21s with bust cards up and two dealer blackjacks on last two hands). I may not play this tourney again - betcom gets to keep too much money from our rebuys since there is no corresponding increase in the prize pool.

Selecticom you are carrying the torch now for BJT - bring home the $5K!

    Good luck!

Ugh. Yes, selecticom, I hoped to be in a position to make a deal today with you. Let's just say things didn't go well.

Take home the top prize for the pride of BJT!

Like Gayle, I'm also disenchanted with this format. It was mostly a bidding war, and I expect if they hold it again it will be even more so. I wouldn't participate in this event again unless the format is changed. For example, they could limit each player to one free and one rebuy entry each round.
