    Leftnut,

Points noted., I have to say that I totally agree with you on the seating - I hope to have that fixed very soon.

I have checked this again. In the match against Angelrun, Angelrun doubled 83 against a 7. DRSLYR hit 85 and busted.

Angelrun's play was consistent with optimal strategy.

    Sometimes, but not always.

I think DRSLYR's point is that an obviously absent player (one who isn't responding at all to the game) shouldn't be hitting, doubling, splitting, etc. and definitely shouldn't be winning games.

It is my intention to remove absent players from freerolls. I do feel, however, that for paid tournaments there is no reason why an abesnt player should be removed. They paid to be there and anyway you should be able to easily beat an abesnt player due to the rather obvious betting strategy (or lack thereof).

The absent strategy at the moment is to play optimal strategy. This includes doubles, splits etc. If you were disconnected in a tournament I presume you would want this treatment while you reconnect.

Disagree very strongly! If I paid money ro enter a tournament and, due to terribly bad cards, got beat by someone who didn't even bother to show up, I'd be absolutely furious. If they get disconnected, I can (almost) understand. But if the opponent was never there throughout the entire match and they win, that's just wrong.
Your BJT's move at an incredibly fast rate, so perhaps you could consider simply stopping the game completely for a short period of time to allow for a possible reconnect - with an appropriate notice to the other player.

Auto-playing a hand/game for anyone is just plain wrong.

    I don't think so...

Blackjack.com, I have no problem with an absent player getting to finish his or her round for whatever the reason may be, (running late, kicked off, had to leave early).

But they should be allow basic hitting or standing only, DD, splits, surrender options should not be played automaticly for them.

It doesn't seem all that ridiculous to me, except in combination with the fact that they don't get thrown out of the game at any point. Having said that, I can see a reason to restrict absent players to a sub-optimal strategy, even under a system where absentees get thrown out .....

I can see the logic in this, but a major drawback is that it opens up the possibility of sneaky players pretending to be absent in the early rounds (since the system will play pretty much the way they would do :- min bet, basic strategy), and then timing their entry into the fray with a big bet in such a way that it catches their opponent(s) off guard.

I think this is even more of an issue with multi-player tables than heads-up, but it affects both. I'm pretty sure I've witnessed this tactic over at blackjack21.com, even though the hand-playing strategy there falls short of full Basic Strategy.

At GameAccount, where heads-up tournaments similar to yours are played, the rule is that if you don't turn up within two minutes of the start then that's it, game over. Once playing, the game will pause for a couple of minutes if a player is disconnected, allowing them time to get back in. That too has its drawbacks. Again, the sneaky players have an opportunity to profit, buying extra thinking time for tricky decisions if the clock is about to time them out. Also, those who are merely anti-social can repeatedly disconnect, making a game take forever, just to annoy their opponent.

    No Wong here

    Oh, really?

I watched a game today between two obviously absent players. Apparently the optimal strategy includes doubling A-4 v. 10 and standing on hard 14 or 15 v. 10, both in non-strategic situations. There were others but I wasn't making notes.
It was quite amusing, a great lesson in Bonehead Blackjack 101. :D

    Asleep at the wheel

Six days ago, I sent a PM to "blackjack.com" on this forum asking a very simple question. It was read, but no one responded.

    Yet another lock-up

Today, Friday Jan. 25th on the 8:00 pm free roll the thing locked up again. This is sure making it hard to gain any confidence with this blackjack website. I am glad I don't have any of my own cold hard cash invested in this site. It just seems to be one issue after another! Such a shame too, the quick playing format kinda grows on you.

Are you saying that they didn't send you the cash-out which you posted about here on January 8??? :flame:

    BULLSH*T. :flame:
Twice this week I lost to an obviously absent player. When you get a slight lead and correlate that minimum bet, and the absent player repeatedly gets 20's and BJ's, you cannot do a damn thing about it. If I'm going to take my time to actually be there, I will not tolerate having to lose to folks who don't even bother to show up.

When you at least make a minimum attempt to fix your site, post here and let us know. Until then, I'm not wasting my time or the power to run my computer to play there. Sure, they're all freerolls for now, but all I've heard so far is that folks cannot cash out anyway, so what's the point? :vomit:

this one i have got.... but now i have next one with problems..... next 250$....

Well, i have made cashout, 200$. Ok, it took almost two months, but i received money. Problem was that "i have never made deposit". But i was so annoying that in the end they decided to cash me out, although money won on freerolls is "bonus money and cannot be cashed out" (lol, btw...)

But instead of to be grateful, i have decided not to play on that site anymore until they improve some major things, because it really makes me angry.

I am afraid this software is impasse, so best thing IMO would be to crash it and start all over again, to make downloadable software, change stupid 1 on 1 format of play, import options for surrender, double with less, double on BJ.
Without that options , luck is still too crucial and is making less space for better players to win.

Many times i was playing, and my hands were played automatically to bust without me pressing anything, bugs are all over that soft, then annoying when i am playing that i never know what round am i in "round undefined, match undefined"...i think many things on that site are undefined.

They should change absent players policy too, stupid withdrawal rules like "withdrawals are made on mondays, please resubmit on that day"....I say, withdrawals are made WHEN I WANT.

They should teach their CS more than three lines: "this is CSblabla, how may i assist you", "please write all details to support@...", "dont hesitate to contact us 24/7"....

Guaranteed prize tourneys are not really guaranteed, when it is 100$GTD, i want to be 100$, and not 92,5$, 97,5$, or what...

Then they should decide are 50$ freerolls for real or for bonus money, is it withdrawable or not. If it is bonus money, then put it into "play for fun" area, because i dont have anything from monopolly money.

Until i see these thigns start to improve, i am not playing there, or at least not seriously play there.

Lysy997 - Are you saying that you did manage to get $200 out of them? And are you experiencing the same problems with your second withdrawal as Markozg?

Markozg - WOW! Thanks for the post. I had no idea (and am guessing that apparently everyone else is in the same boat) that the freeroll winnings were supposed to be a "bonus money" thing. Don't remember seeing that openly disclosed on the website, and also don't recall the person posting here as "blackjack.com" confessing that little detail, either.

Failing to disclose important details, telling half-truths, not listening to well-intended suggestions from customers.
Sounds an awful lot like a major BJT organization which has recently caused itself some major problems, doesn't it? :yikes:
