Congratulations Leftnut, two for two

I want to respond to this thread because to me my response has a double meaning. From a symbolic stand point, my story has 2 purposes. One of course applies to this thread. The other has nothing to do with this thread and applies to a member who shall remain anonymous but he/she will know when read.

As I was watching this thread unfold, I was reminded of something that happened to me in Nov., 2007. Every retail store was trying to get the Christmas buck. One BIG BOX store ran an add in the newspaper with many great specials and one was selling just 10 specific TVs at less that 50% of normal price. First come, first serve - no rain checks. The newspaper ad said doors open at 6:00am. I think many of you can guess the outcome of this story but I'll continue anyway.

I woke that morning at 4:00am. Lolly gaged around and had some coffee and cigarettes (don't even think about commenting on the cigarettes). Took a shower then lolly gaged some more with coffee and cigarettes in hand - hate to leave the house until fully awake. Left the house at 5:30am. Arrived at the store at 5:55am. The parking lot was full but no lines to get into the store. When I got in the store it was packed and the special TVs were sold out. As it turned out, I saw the last one leave the store as I entered. I made a brief inquiry about the store opening time and was told the doors opened at 5:00am although some papers carried an opening time of 6:00am.

Was I upset? Of course. Was it my fault? Hell no! If I arrived an hour early what would I do? Drink coffee and smoke cigarettes. Hell, I could do that at home rather than sitting in a cold parking lot. Life is full of false information - some serious and some not so serious. Put the blame on the party that supplied the bad information, not the party that trusted that information and acted in good faith accordingly.

 

I have never written on this forum, but felt I needed to reply. Just wanted to remind Rick that the same time for the tournament start has been 10:30 am to register if you have qualified and then the wild card drawing begins. This has been like that since Oct 2006, when I started playing the tournaments (you shouldn't need the letter to already know this). There was also a time that Rick had a room at the Casino and was being paged to register and someone had to call him and wake him up to get down there to register in time. Just more info to muddy the trouble waters.

Funny how someone who has never posted before comes out of no where to as they put it "Muddy the Water some more"...lol.

Before anything was ever posted I had talked with Swog and Ken both and we were wondering and laughing when someone would post about this situation. Swog was the one that bet me that someone who had never posted before would make their first post about this just to try and cause trouble and of course not use their name but some screen name.

Well Swog you win, seems nurse50_08 is the unknown first time poster, posting for no apparent reason.

If this was a legit post nurse05_08 should understand that BJBeauty has been playing the Durant tournament longer than I have and she didn't know the time and called me to find out when we needed to be there. Another point is I haven't played the Durant tournament in over a year and a half. And last when you play several tournaments at multiple casinos you'll be playing at different times, if you were a real tournament player you would know this also.

As far as the other part of the story I stayed at the hotel and came down when I needed too, another player did call me and asked where I was at, but I was already up and getting ready to come down.

I'm curious nurse05_08 who you are and why you feel the need to try and cause trouble for no reason?

Please note that I'm not up set with Leftnut or Monkeysystem (who by the way hasn't posted anything). Both these guys are my friends and I hope to stay friend with both of them. There has been talk of airfares lost for both of them, but never any mention what I had invested (with was more then both of them combined) over the three months of qualifying, that little matter seems to keep being over looked.

This thread should never have ever been posted, really sad nothing creative or helpful about it. Just nothing more then an attempt to try and cause trouble. We're suppose to be trying to work together and build a community here and instead we have members trying to pull us apart, really a crying shame.

My name is Rick Jensen, most already know that, I don't hide behind a screen name. I try to help create and improve blackjack tournaments and help both new and seasoned tournament players when asked if possible.

I told a member I wouldn't be replying to this thread anymore, but felt since nurse05_08 had to post for the first time ever they needed a reply from me. Now who ever wants to reply to this thread after this, go for it because this has gotten to be ridiculous and a waist of my time so I'm through with it and I can only hope we can get back to discussing what this site is for.

Sorry to hear of this major screw up.

For one I would have never allowed myself just 30 minutes before sign up.

I always depend on myself and no others when scheduling events and never put myself in anothers hands, and if someone is depending on me to get them somewhere, like picking up a BJ BASH attendee at the airport, you best believe I will be there when I said.

What a kick in the ass foe you and Monkey.

BTW, if you and Monkey ever stay at my place before a tourney I have 3 full baths, one for each, so if you are late it won't be on account of waiting for the bathroom:laugh::laugh:

BTW, I am signed up for Ignace so I am really looking forward to seeing everyone, but not playing against you HIGHLY SKILLED PRO's. Especially since I am sure after these events you will be out for blood.

Someone needs to get off their high horse. There is ZERO logic to tex throwing himself and his "friend" out of the game. ZERO. If you F'ing think he threw the game for himself included just so it slightly increased the chances of a third party you are crazy. Its just not logical. Its much better for him to play. Unbelievable.

To the Nurse and Angelrun5:

Why would YOU feel the need to "muddy the waters"? Are you really that bored with your life, with nothing else to do but to cause additional troubles with your words? As I stated before, this issue should have NEVER been presented publicly on this Forum, and Angelrun5 was just flat out wrong to do so! Having said this, those of you who insist on flaming the fire with your inflamatory words need to find something way more constructive do do with your time....

If in fact you are a NURSE, you need to go back to the basics of HEALING in both your words and actions! Why would anyone who has possibly taken the OATH of healing, even think about anonymously using language on a Public Forum like this (for the FIRST time) with the express purpose of causing injury to another figuratively speaking????

Hopefully, my friend Ken Smith will continue to see through these issues of people just itching to stir up trouble on this Forum, as is the case here, and just take this Thread down!

Finally, as I stated in an earlier post, NONE of this would have been an issue if the persons involved had taken PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for getting themselves to the Event on time (with time to spare) without even THINKING about depending on anyone else taking responsibility! Just flat out COMMON SENSE in an age where it's obviously lacking in many respects. And for YOU Angelrun5, deciding to air your dirty laundry for all to see, either for our pity and/or for you to publicly castigate Rick Jensen, hopefully you've made the decision to do your wash inside the house in the future. Stink up your own house in the future, not this one....
