Accommadations @ Grand Tunica 2/3-4/06 :flame: Several people seem to be having problems w/ the comp. room issue regarding this blackjack tournament. I have a friend who has just now been able to confirm the rooms are included w/ buy-in via this contact. She was told yeserday she would have to pay $300. for two nights. Terrible communication breakdown @ Grand Tunica! Hope it didn't cost us to many entries....:flame: You need to call: Erascelia 'air-uh-selly' @ 1-662-404-1611 Hostess Grand Casino Tunica THX to PoppaG/Crescent City for the ground work on this issue! Good Luck! Jim Noon 2/2/06
Try to help Jim P. I put in a call to my buddy Mike Tobias table games manager at the Grand - Tunica. He was out until 2:00 pm today and should call me back then. Mike likes to know about these types of problems so they can be corrected. I am sure once I let him know the problems ya'll have had he will get on them. By the way Congrats on making the finals at the Sheraton last weekend.
Yesterday I received a phone call from the advertising manager at Grand Tunica, asking that I remove the mention of two free nights from the tourney listing, saying that the free room offer was for invited guests only. It appears that there are still differing opinions depending on who you speak to.
Tournament Results The tournament had appx. 206 enteries with entry fees ranging from 100% comps to $500 with no room included. In between figures that I saw were $250, $300, & $400. The 7 top finishers for this tourney that was well run & paid $150,000 were: 1. Mika Lynn Kile, $100,000 to this 27 year old young lady from Winona, MO who shoutedseveral times "I am debt now debt free". She received really good cards during the 25 hands, but she played them well, & mostly did a good job of betting. She led the entire rounds. $8250 at countdown. 2. Yum Ho Kim from Nashville, TN received $18,000. He bet minimum most of the hands, but I did not understand his betting in the last 3 rounds where his bet was insufficient to take the lead. $5650 at countdown. 3. James Sanders of Birmingham. AL, received $7,000. He had $3500 at countdown. 4. Bill Kuettgers(??) (Matador) received $5,000. Had $5100 at countdown. 5. Sandra Lowrey of Huntsville, AL., received $4,000. She did a great recovery after being down to $300 at countdown. 6. Darrel Newsom of the Mississippi Gulf coast received $3,000. Had $3,000 at countdown. 7. Robert Ellis of Huntsville, AL received $1,500. He was out at about hand 8. Generally all players except the winner did not get very good cards. I made it to the semi-finals where 3 of us remained at the countdown with $4600, 4700, & 4800. On hand 23 I made a max bet & won while the leader lost a $300 bet that temporarily put me in the lead, Then on hand 24, the $4600 person made a max bet & received a BJ, that requierd both of us remaining to do max bet & double for less on hand 25. Both of us busted so Darrel Newson proceeded to the finals. Leaving to join the group in Vegas tomorrrow, so maybe there will be a report upon my return next weekend.
Nice info post Springbac Ken may need to hire you to report on the tournaments. NICE POST! Hope everybody has fun in Vegas this week, keep us updated from out there also.
