deltaduke, Thanks for the info. The Grand seems to make the mistake of starting with a invite then changing it to open as time gets closer. Like I posted earlier, when I called the first time they said I needed an invite and would not budge from that position. Dynomike1, I think you have the concept right. Ending up with a low chip count in this type of tournament will not even get you a cup of coffee. You must be aggressive. Bet big to succeed or bust out trying. Leave the middle ground to the ploppies.
Toolman you wouldnt happen to know where St. Charles Mo. is do you. Still havent heard from Roy if it is now open i will be there Friday night. I wished i knew for sure so i could get me a room.
I assume you are referring to Harrah's St. Louis. St. Charles, MO is a suburb of St. Louis. From the Tunica casinos it is about a 5 hour drive. Best directions from any location can be had through "mapquest.com". It's free and usually very accurate. Why do you ask? Just curious. For general information, I don't think a player can just show up and register. A reservation to play is needed, I believe. I could be wrong on this but that is what I was led to believe.
Tunica BJ Tourney Toolman you are correct.I just talked to my host & he said that advance reservations would be required.
Just trying to find tournements close to me. Cant get hold to Roy dont know what to do on Grand.Does anyone know how many hands will be played and how much money starting with? Phil who did you call?
Tournaments are indeed an "anomaly " in your and my area. Just take whatever comes along. That's about all we can do. Now the Grand. Since they now apparently have it "open", call and ask for the casino host on duty or casino marketing. If space and rooms are still available, they should be able to help. Good luck.
Tunica instead of Tulsa It looks like I will be seeing all of you in Tunica instead of making the reunion in Tulsa. Good luck to everyone at both events! Pat
toolman, are you sure about the"bonus points"? I have played several VP and slot Millionaire Maker tournaments that added whatever amount they announced to your point total that you got from playing your rounds if you registered in the "early bird" time slot. It wouldn't be any harder to do in this tournament, given it's accumulation format.
Looks like that's my bad. I reread my post on that. I guess I did give the impression that I was sure, but in fact I'm not. That was just my "take" of the situation. After reconsidering, I think your assessment is correct. Are you planning on being there, Blackjack Rebel Too?
thanks Pat Good luck to you and the rest of the Tunica players. We're playing in 4 tournaments in 6 days here in Tulsa. All 110% equity. We're throwing a lot of mud against the wall, just hope some of it sticks. tgun & swede21
Although Tulsa is clearly a much better deal I am planning on being in Tunica this weekend. I hope Jim's info on registration times is accurate. I am going to be pushing it pretty close time-wise. Ten should be no problem but if they change it to nine, I will be borderline. I would hate to be "shut out at the betting window" as they used to say at the racetrack. Hope to see y'all there.
