    Pine Tree,

BJ Tournaments are scarce, period. We play whatever we can find. I also play tournaments that are "less than desirable" - the alternative is to stay home and watch TV. As TXtourplayer put it: "Any tournament is better than no tournament".

toolman anf any OK Bounty players

Toolman, you cant delay the game with questions at the Hustler. The participants there are a little persnickety and when you ask a question they demand the game continue. Its a timed format so many demand no interruptions in the game. Another example of this is when the Banker player is having a hard time counting their money to the spot players demand the game be dealt while the bank puts out required chips.

OK players, does this format sound like the Bounty game you played in OK?

So questions are frowned on, Hummm. Yes, tweaking is definitely need.

    Well

Yes and no. Because its a timed game I can see why some of the players dont want interruption. Two advance from the prelim tables which means you could still be playing at end not "eliminated" In a way its an accumulation and top two advance at time limit. So time is of the essence. I, playing tow rounds, was able to pick up on the game after the first few hands. The floor would talk to you as the game was in action. I live only about 80 miles from Hustler but dont want to travel because of the traffic and bad area the casino is in. Thats the reason I dont play every week. The casino is classy and the game isnt that hard to pick up and the pay scale is very good. For you, toolman, if you get a chance to play a Bounty game dont shy away. Its fun.

I would look forward to a "bounty style" BJ tournament - with improvements. I think it has real potential, in time, of becoming very popular. The problem is that the casinos using this format have not really thought it through. By making changes, through experience, they can make this game much better. However, if history is any judge, once a set of rules is written they (the casinos) seldom if ever change them for future events. And that's too bad. :(

Changes will happen in the Bounty tournament

LOL, I can promise you that the next bounty blackjack tournaments in Tulsa will have SEVERAL CHANGES...LOL.

I had a long talk with Eric and he even said "There was no way we were running the bounty tournament the same way next time", (this was after they finally chopped the pot around 7:30 am the next morning...LOL.

I am not sure, (nor Eric) if it will be a set number of hands, time limit, or just raising the bet limits every 10 minutes or so (similar to raising the blinds in TX Hold'em) to eliminate the long rounds we had the first time.

Did anyone play in tonight's Hustler tournament?

I wasn't able to get to the Hustler Casino tonight to play in the $5000 added tournament. If you were there: How much did 1st place pay? Was an additional 1st round added? What did you think of the game's rules? Were there any problems apparent during the tournament?
    I hope you did well.
