    Rebuy Bob and Rick

Count Storm and I in for the Seattle area TBT/TBJPA stop. I also think my mother (BarbT/azbobcat) from Tucson and my sister (Beth/mammab) from Chicago will also fly in for the event. The four of us always give the casinos side action especially if we get favorable rules in blackjack and we also enjoy three card poker and pai gow.

    Hey RebuyBob,
You can count Lou & I in for Seattle.

I've never been there and would love to see something new & different!

    Thank You All!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for coming to the River Palms and playing in Rick's event. Myself and my staff all had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone. I would like to especially thank Rick for his attention to detail and how thorough he was in his preparation for this tournament. Also a special thanks to Ken and Henry for all your help in making this event a success.

I am looking forward to August and seeing all of my new friends (and hopefully many more) again! I have been running poker tournaments for years and I can't think of one that I enjoyed more than I enjoyed this past weekend with all of you. I might even make arrangements to play in Seattle when y'all go up there.

Once again, thank you all very much for spending your time with us at the River Palms!

    Dan Higginbotham

p/s Re-Buy Bob- Just for you...starting in June we will be offering DAS at the River Palms (the only ones in Laughlin I believe).

    Hey Dan...

While your at it, raise the BJ table limit to $500.00 so we can play with quarters instead of nickles.

    Seattle Tournament

My brother in law lives on Mercer Island, which is apparently near Seattle so you can imagine what I am thinking.

Is it worth mentioning to my wife that we should visit her brother or would we be well away from the tourney venue?

    Responding

Facts are Mercer Island (One of the most expensive areas in Seattle is between downtown Seattle and the eastside (Bellevue, Redmond, the home of Microsoft, and Kirkland.) It is 10 minutes from downtown and 18 minutes from the Treasure Casino (45 minutes by covered wagon). SOOOOOO COMOOOOON down!

    Thanks everybody....

The response has been incredible for the Laughlin events. And you the players are the reason, I wasn't home one day that my phone didn't start ringing and e-mails start coming in congratulating me and getting contacted by other casinos to possibly come host TBJPA events at there location.

Now I just need to make the time to go everywhere (what a great problem to have).

And how about Dan "The Man" Higginbotham making a post? How many casino managers have ever posted here after a tournament to thank the players and welcome them back, talk about a great guy.

It is really nice being wanted to come play tournaments at a casino, next I head off to another great event the Tulsa tournaments run by another great TD (Eric Woods). Tournaments are starting to look a lot better with guys like this running the events.

Just since I have been home I have been contacted by casinos in Washington (thanks Re-Buy), Oklahoma, Missouri (thanks Soozziec and Lou), Mississippi and Louisiana. Hopefully I can get them all and start building the TBJPA for all the players.

I am off to another casino now to see about a possible TBJPA event. Keep your fingers crossed that we can not only get more locations, but keep getting these great managers and tournament directors as well.

    Thanks again,

    Rick Jensen

Pacific NW BJ, Pai Gow, and Span 21 Tournament schedule

It amazed me how few people in Laughlin were aware of the enormous number of daily tournments avaliable in the Pacific NW. You too? Well, let's put it all in perspective with a little history. There are 108 casinos in the state of Washington, second only to Nevada. Most of them are non-tribal and fight the hard battle of no slots allowed, $200 bet limits and so many other restrictions that it's a wonder they survive against the tribals. What began as a hobby of PLAYING bjts for me quickly developed into a business of setting up tournament packages- from the rules, forms, table aids, to a 2 month or so stint as a tournmant director for the purpose of training a replacement. Today, my system shows over 168 sets of rules and variations of rules. Most of the tournaments in Seattle reflect what I gathered from Nevada tournaments and anywhere else I could find them. Also, started in 1999, I began to publish the "Tournament Turkey," a monthly schedule depicting MOST of the tournaments that surround the Seattle area . From a humble beginning of 17 tournaments a week in 1999, my current May list depicts no less than 76 tournaments (from a low of 3 on Friday to a high of 15 on Tuesday and Sunday) a week that are in the immediate Seattle area. If you EVER think you'll visit our area, you may very well pay for your trip with a couple of wins, many of which guarantee from $1000 to $1300 for 1st place. GOT YOUR ATTENTION YET? How do you get such a list? Just E-mail me at rebuybob@comcast.net and I will send you the latest schedule. Now wasn't that simple?

You're welcome tex. I know not playing must have torn at your heart a bit, but what satisfaction you must be feeling now.

BTW, thanks Ken for giving us a TBJPA thread line.

    Thank you

Thanks to rebuybob for the information and Tex for the invite to Seattle.

Just to let you know that I am working on a possible trip and currently doing my best to pacify a neglected wife, so I could get there yet.

Better late than never. Had to wait until my daughter/Mammab got to Tucson to show me how to send messages. Even then we got it wrong as I should be jdtbjt not bjtjdt. Oh well! I'll just continue on as bjtjdt. I just want to thank Rick for his most excellent tournament. His organizational skills are awesome and he is one hard worker. Also, big thanks to Ken and Henry for their sponsership and the donation of great priizes. Ditto River Palms. Can't tell you how wonderful it was to meet a lot of John/thrasht's friends. What a great bunch of people. Am hoping to see them all again on the BJ Cuise. Rebuy, hope to see you in WA.

    Best regards, BarbT

Late in joining the crowd, but congrats...

for the successfull Laughlin adventure. Your considerable efforts in expanding TBJ deserves applauds, Rick. Had I been geographically close, I would have been there. It was just not possible. Your tenacity is a great character trait. Hope to meet you and shake your hand one day.

My greatest wish though would be for you and Joep to kiss and make up and work in collaboration. The end goal is the same is'nt it...successfull development, promotion and expansion of TBJ.
