Cold war has been history for quite some time now...surprized you missed that little bit of news...

Actually Russia is giving this Democracy thing a real try...its funny when I see certain freedoms they have there that I dont have here...for example Im sure online gaming is perfectly ok there..;-)

    Andy....ahhhh

Im not sure my household is ready for 2 gamblers yet....lol. Actually she has been watching a bit and has some interest. Probably not a bad idea either as Russian schools place such high emphasis on math along with her obsessive nature.

No doubt she would eventially overcome my game. This Russian womans nature is to work harder than anyone I have ever known at mastering whatever she sets her mind to...obsessive doesnt come close to the proper description.

She is a classically trained musician and so for now that keeps her occupied. She plays piano ....I play Black Jack...she speaks 3 languages...I struggle with my native English still...

Perhaps this year I'll set up an account and stake her for some small amount and see what she can do....she has never played....might be interesting...

She never drove before coming to USA and she took that lesson book and wore it ragged eared learning it front to back...passing the written with a perfect score and drivers portion on first try... so I suppose if I show her my BJ book collection I can expect the same result....now who do I have her read first???

Is it Wong, Ken E, Resney, or maybe wait for the phantom Ken S and HD books???

Shes in the kitchen cooking Borscht right now... talk about cliche'...lol
She would die if she knew I even mentioned her in a public post...

    Rando:

Forget Blackjack and follow the music trail.

There's more of a need for good to great music than whimpering, crying Blackjack players.

Now, if you can only figure out how to strap that Steinway to your back to allow your wife to tour, she'll be forever grateful and you'll never run short of borscht.

Funny that you mention it....we had to look for more than a year for the "proper" piano... one just like she used in most of her 21 years of formal education....yes...even East of the Urals in Siberian Russ... the NY made Steinway & Sons is the only proper piano...and so now we too have the proper Steinway sitting in its temprature and humidity controled polished and tuned to perfection environment...I actually get jealous of the care this instrament gets...ivories all polished...lovingly dusted and covered each and every time used... which is every day.

It takes 6 men and 2 boys to move it across the room...so packin it up on my worn out back is out.....she wants to move to NYC...lol..hey maybe Vegas...

    beware!

I taught my wife "basic" 1 1/2 yrs. ago; that's all she knows but kicks my arse much of the time. She has won 2 $4,000 Tournaments in Stl and also was top money winner on the last BJ cruise. About $12,000 just this year.
She knows 1 Wongism; "When in doubt, put it out".

The good news is she shares her winnings with me.

I can't get her to read BJ book or practice or anything.

Whoops. Didn't Trail the thread: EXCUSE ME!

Rando: The humidifier thingies for a steinway must be almost as big as the instrument itself. Maybe you could serve by strapping one of them on your back and takin the "new age" act to Vegas. While schlock prevails, it's surprising the numbers of folks who do appreciate the "good" entertainment.

Ohy gosh, all. I'm not knockin anything Vegas, except 6-5 BJ and no penetration no decks anywhere. I totaly love everything I bump into out there. Well, except that guy passing me the index cards. But, I would like to meet his sister.
