    1 out of 4

I finally got hole of someone that seems to know what they are talking about up at Meskwaki. They did tell me that the 1 advancing is only in the later rounds and that it would be 1 advance from a table of 4, which is pretty nice.

Originally I was told only 1 advance from round 2 - the finals, that is why I posted in the first place. I hope it is 2,2,3, and 1, that's not bad at all. But I still hate 2 for 1 BJ and really hate no limit.

    blackjacks

Most of the casino's in the area have 2-1 blackjack in the tournaments. I can think of Ignace, Turtle Lake, Hinckley, Jackpot Junction and Meskwaki all with 2-1 pay-outs on a natural. Wasn't Winstar a no-limit tournament too?

You weren't complaining too loudly at Winstar last year.... which also had both of those rules.

    Yes I was...

The 2 for 1 BJ and no limit cost both S. Yama and I making the final table in the first qualifier Winstar had last March. Trust me I was sick over both those rules as both Yama and I were BR1 on our tables.

It is the worst feeling playing correctly throughout the tournament only to get beat by a last hand 2 - 1 BJ with no max. limit betting.

When I asked the manager at Winstar why he had the rules that way, he told me because he wanted the tournaments to be more about luck and less about skill. He felt the novice players would stand more of a chance with these rules, plus it is easier for the dealers to pay out 2 - 1 over 3 - 2.

The reason's I played Winstar were:

    1) Close, only an hour drive from my house.
    2) The EV was excellent and my entry was covered.
    3) I backed several players in the event, (by the way that worked out pretty good...lol).

    Open play conditions

Having never been to Meskwaki I'm wondering about playing conditions there for both BJ and video poker. Anyone know from experience? vpFree website doesn't show anything for their games.

Afraid I can't help you with the VP, Billy. None of my sources indicate anything about the game offerings there. :(
